• I really liked the way the front desk personnel greeted me and made me feel welcome. They were very friendly, courteous and professional.

“The hotel is located in a quiet and convenient area. It was very easy to commute to and from New York City. It was about 15 minutes away. One of the most outstanding features of the hotel is the restaurant. The breakfast menu was excellent. A child eats free with each adult purchase. It was definitely family friendly.”

“The staff was very accommodating. They were both friendly and informative. My first trip to NYC/NJ was short, yet enjoyable due to the staff at the Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Inn.”

• Noisy staff on the hallway disturb guests' rest.

“Bath tub was not perfectly clean, and noisy staff who talked over walkie-talkie with beeping sound from early in the morning made us couldn't sleep well.”

• Great clean room with everything you need, comfortable beds and beddings.
• The neighborhood was very unattractive.

“It is unfortunate that this hotel is located in a not so nice neighborhood, and the lobby is very small. Other than that, the rooms are very nice, clean fully equipment. If you don't care about the location, then this is a good hotel.”

• Was a good value for the area.
• Other than a sink that should have been replaced when the room was renovated - nothing.

“Location was good for our destination. Room was clean and decor was updated. We had a room that was away from the highway so room was quiet. Hotel had a 24 hour business center with 2 stations as well as WIFI. There were shuttles available.”

• Response of management staff once condition of room was found to be unclean.
• Both rooms that the hotel attempted to lace us in initially were not cleaned thoroughly by the housekeeping staff.

• The room had a lot of draw space.
• The layout of the hotel had you walking a long way to get to the pool.

“The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom counter space was a bit on the small side and could use updating. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly.”

“I would stay here again. Service was good, room was nice, had a good meal at the bar. Decent location for getting onto major highways.”

• Police guard by side door was desirable.
• Bad area, noisy and overcrowded. Did not accommodate adjoining room request for children.

“We were very disappointed upon our arrival to this hotel off the busy highway in a not-so-nice area. The police car in the parking lot was our first indication that this wasn't a child-friendly place. The lobby was crowded and loud at 10 at night and the front desk staff was not accommodating our request for adjoining room, despite the fact that I had called well in advance to request them. Our rooms were across from each other, the sinks were cracked and dirty and the overall feeling was that we couldn't wait to get out of there.”

• There was loud music from one of the adjacent rooms till late midnight.

“Its a good hotel for some one on the fly on a business trip, its OK for the Family with kids as it a Mac Donalds beside it, very convenient for kids food. Not for extended stay though.”

• Tub water was slow in draining out.

“Employees are very nice. The other side of the hotel we didnt like that much. Even the non smoking area smelled like smoke. But when we asked for an executive room they moved us to the tower which was very nice. We were happy with that.”

• Very low end of Holiday Inn. Bed too small. Not roomy, And not clean. Staff took sheet out and wait long time to make the room. No vent in bath.

• The receptionist, when she finally acknowledged me, was pleasant.
• The room and lobby smelled terribly. The hotel was old and not kept up as evident by holes in walls.

“I was not happy with my stay. When I arrived, the lobby smelled and I was ignored by reception for almost 10 minutes. I got my key and asked about the local train to use to get to my meeting, she told me she didn't have any information. The room smelled worse than the lobby and the heater didn't get the room warm.”

• Clean and nice rooms. Fast room service and good location.
• Very rude restaurant staff in the mornings.

“For the price I paid for, it was good. Very good in some aspects. My only complaint would be the restaurant staff for breakfasts. They look over your shoulder all the time to see if you actually has the continental or the buffet. When I was signing the bill, the waitress stood next to me and would not leave before I put down the tip amount. I was not going to leave a generous tip because she brought our coffees after we were done with the food.”

• I liked the comfort of the bed and pillows.
• I believe that this hotel is extremely overpriced. There are many hotels/motels within the same area that are a lot more reasonably priced.

“The hotel was ok for a couple of days but the room didn't have a closet or safe. Not very comfortable for a longer stay with several people in a room. I thought it was extremely overpriced.”

• Reasonable price. Good location. Clean room.
• Difficult to understand non English speaking staff.

“A good value for the money such a short distance from New York. Easy transportation into Manhattan was difficult to arrange. Best bet is to go NJT via Newark, in which case you might want to stay closer to Newark. The hotel will meet most of the needs of the business traveler.”
