• Location.
• The desk staff was helpful but not friendly. I chose the hotel for the hot tub and it was working only once. What a complete let down!

“After the first two nights my expectations were very low. The hot tub worked sporadically, the front (stone-like) counter in the bathroom came unglued from it's base. The room smelled very stale like old smoke, as did the towels. The shower stall had burn marks and mold spots on it. I would neither recommend this hotel to anyone or stay there again in the future, despite the convenience of the room size.”

• Free Breakfast. Close to Freeway, shopping, and beach.
• Cook staff not very clean looking. Tend to stare at female guest.

“We have stayed at this hotel before. Some of the bad are as follows. The phone in our last room had buttons for the front desk, and for wakeup calls that did not work. A lot of the channels on the cable TV are so distorted by poor signal that it's impossible to watch, including HBO. They do offer a nice free breakfast that includes eggs, a waffle maker that you can use to make your own waffles, bacon and potatoes, and of course coffee. The staff that takes care of the breakfast food include men that look a little questionable and tend to stare at the female guest, but that's something that a quick stare down will put a stop to. The rooms are clean and the beds are fine. For the price and the convenience of being very near the beach, Red Bank and Monmouth mall it's hard to beat. We will probably stay there again, as we simply use it as a place to sleep when we are in town.”

• They allowed early check-in.
• The bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

“The hotel is just ok. The room was nice. Very spacious. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Prepare to wear sandals in the shower. The housekeeping wasn¿t totally up to par. Continually forgot soap and other amenities.”

• Exceeded my expectations, and had had some bad reviews.
• Had to change rooms due to a bad door lock.

“Made a hasty reservation prior to reading reviews and I was most skeptical. I was pleasantly surprise with the service, cleanliness and quality for the price. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was complete with eggs, sausage and the usual other choices. A good value.”

“I would recommend as an affordable nice place to stay. Safe and quiet with security! The rooms are spacious, not luxury in looks, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good. The pool is small, but indoors and clean!”

• Although the rooms were clean and nice, the overall hotel could use a nice upgrade.

• It was close to a major highway.
• The room was unclean; the TVs did not work well; the staff was a skeleton crew at night and the staff seemed disengaged from their duties.

“Our hotel room was very dirty (e.g. the bathroom floor had dirt and hair collected around the edges). The sheets provided for the fold out couch were badly soiled and when I asked the front desk for clean sheets they were unable to provide any. There was no housekeeping or maintenance staff available for trouble-shooting after 5 pm. ”

“Sunrise Suites would meet or exceed the needs of most travelers, in my opinion. It's conveniently located, the rooms are clean and nicely furnished, and the continental breakfast is excellent! I would gladly stay there again.”

• Easy to get to once you find it.
• Unprofessional staff, hotel is showing it's age.

“Let me start off by saying there are no signs saying this was a hotel. None! I had to drive around for 5 minutes and could not even see the address number on the building either. I finally walked up to a building that looked like a hotel and saw the Sunrise Suites floor mat at the front door. I knew it was not going to be a good stay from the minute I walked in. The front desk clerk had a T-shirt on that said "Boyfriend wanted. Inquire within" I stay at a lot of hotels and 99% of them have a dress code. Not this place. She did have an attitude when I walked in, it seemed I was bothering her from chatting with other co-workers. I heard her make a comment about me interrupting her story to her friend because she had to help a customer. I did ask why there was no sign on the building and she shrugged her shoulders as she did not know. I was not impressed with this place at all as it is really showing it's age and is need of remodeling bad. I couldn't sleep much because you can hear everything outside your door including the cars on the highway nearby. I would have given the location a 9 if there was a sign on the building.”

“This hotel was definitely not worth the $110/night . It was very noisy, dirty, the morning breakfast was the worst we've ever experienced . There was no tub, just a shower in our room. The floor was not leveled correctly so that the water would drain down the drain. Instead, the water leaked out all over the bathroom (under the sink, toilet, etc. so we had to walk through dirty bathwater whenever we wanted to use the toilet or the sink. There was barely any room on the vanity to put anything and there was only one sink and one tiny mirror for four people. The stairwell doors which were right next to our room did not have the springs tightened properly so the doors slammed shut every time someone opened them. We suggested to the maintenance man that he simply tighten the springs so that the doors will close more slowly and quietly. He said OK, but then never did it, so we were awake all night listening to people slam these doors at all hours of the night. It is a big hotel, so these doors got much traffic.”

“Sunrise Suites is located in Tinton Falls, NJ just off the Garden State Parkway and NJ Route 18. Nearby beaches are located in Long Branch, Deal and Asbury Park - within a reasonable driving distance and time. We had a 2 room suite - bedroom and living room. There was cable TV, as well as a small microwave and fridge.”

• Good Location, Area looked safe. Near to a shopping Mall.
• A bit overpriced. Internet connection in room didn't work. Staff couldn't give directions about stores in area.

“Overall it was OK. A bit over priced. The area seems safe, which is important if you have children with you. will recommend it to a friend who need a place for a day or two. Although they advertise themselves for Business travelers, I don't think they are up to date on Internet connections.”

• A reasonable distance from PNC Performing Arts Center.
• It was a bit of a dump; room badly in need of upgrade.

“The location was fine for attending an event in Holmdel, nearby. But the room was shabby, with some broken furniture. There was water leaking under the sink in the bathroom, meaning there was water on the floor at all times, making the room unsafe and difficult to use. There were no other rooms to transfer to except smoking rooms, which I cannot tolerate. ”

“This was the worst experience I've ever had. I will continue to use your service but you have to do a better job with Hotel Ratings. Our initial room was so bad we tried to have it switched but were not accommodated until the second night. Hotel is very rundown.”

“This is the most expensive hotel I have ever paid for and really expected a lot more than this hotel. I compare this hotel to a Days Inn or Motel 6. I knew it wouldn't be a good stay when there are no signs saying this building is a hotel. I found out I was in the right place by the floor mat out front as I walked into the lobby. The clerk made no comment when I mentioned this to her. She was wearing a t-shirt that says "Boyfriend wanted - apply within." Every other hotel I have stayed at has a uniform or dress code. The hotel is very old and needs to be remodeled. It is really showing its age. I will never stay here again.”

“The location was great for Ft Monmouth business area. Rooms and courtyards showed hard wear with fresh paint to disguise the condition. Even though I paint "buy it now" prices I felt my room was one of their worst because they may have felt I bought it cheap. This has happened in other hotels in the past.”

• Suite with well-equipped kitchen, pool with spa, sundry shop, DVDs to rent.
• Lamps needed bulbs, TV missing remote, manager did not have spares available.

“Well located near mall and restaurants, yet off main drag so quiet. Charming setup with rooms around landscaped courtyard. Indoor pool/spa with pool towels available and plentiful. Sundry shop with microwavable snacks, and DVDs to rent, meant no one had to leave motel if they chose not to. Breakfast was hot, reasonably tasty, and varied for all ages/tastes. Computer access in lobby was free and fast, and Wi-Fi was available (also free). Easy free parking, elevator, fitness facility, even a measured-off walking path around the top floor, gave this low-cost motel a resort quality.”
