“This hotel was not accurately advertised. It was difficult to understand the people working at the front desk and they did not honor our reservations that we originally made”

“Everyone was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. No one spoke very good English, was very hard to communicate. And the hotel was nothing like what the internet provided. It was nasty, smelled, and was in a very bad neighborhood.”

“The room was quite large and spacious. However, I was in a first floor room with a large glass door which had a broken lock. I barricaded the door with the chairs just so I could feel a bit safer. The lock to the door connecting the lobby to the hotel rooms (the kind you need your room key to open) was broken. The door in the hallway leading to the parking lot also had a broken lock (also the kind you need your room key to open) which didn't matter b/c the door was constantly ajar. Anyone off the street could easily walk in. The general maintenance of the hotel was neglected. There was old, spilled paint on the carpets - graffiti on the bathroom wall, etc. The walls were paper thin. I could hear every conversation, step and sniffle in the hallways. I was awakened several times during the night b/c of loud voices.”

“This is a great hotel to stay in if you don't have to use it for much more than sleep. Positives: Very close to bus stop, 20 minute ride to NYC Port Authority (Make sure you take the express back & not the local - or you're in for a 3/4 mile walk to hotel!). Free computer with internet access in lobby. Friendly hotel staff. Shopping areas close by & I-HOP next door Negatives: Although the staff was friendly, many of them had a hard time understanding English - which made communication difficult. Locks on outside doors to hotel were broken. Carpet looked like it hadn't been swept in quite awhile. Bathroom floor was sticky. No phone books or any literature about the area in rooms. My husband thought it smelled funny (I brought an air freshener =o). I used the shower after my husband & there was water underneath the shower liner. Overall, it was quiet, and since we were in the city from morning until late at night - it worked for us.”

“I was only staying in the room from about 10pm till 11am the following day. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during my stay. I was surprised to have a microwave, minifridge, iron and board, and my own balcony, though the room I was in seemed to be in need of renovation. For the short time I was there, the room served its purpose. The cup of old spaghetti-o's in the microwave was kind of gross though.”

“This hotel is family oriented with a pool available. The rooms are comfortable offering a refrigerator for traveler's convenience. There is an I-Hop restaurant on the premises which is an additional convenience.”

“This hotel has been renovated, so the carpets are clean, the heater is quiet, etc. There are carts available for luggage. It is clear that the owners care about the hotel. However, there was a lot of truck noise in the parking lot, and the mattresses need an upgrade. Overall, it is a good value for the location.”

“The location and difficulty of the bus schedule will make me look for a hotel in north Bergen next time I go to NY. But as an alternative this was a great place to stay, and a great price too.”

“The only thing that I can say, the location is excellent and the rooms have better class than the Howard Johnson in Parsippany, but the toilet seat and the lampshade needs to be replaced in the room that I was in.”

“The hotel was convenient to the bus into NYC, which was very important to us. It was certainly no-frills but it was clean enough and served the purpose of a safe place to keep our stuff and sleep at night. The staff was all very helpful and made our stay pleasant. Housekeeping was prompt and courteous. For the price, an excellent value. True, the wallpaper was worn and the colors were outdated, but hey, we were gone all day to the city!”

“After reading some of the reviews for this hotel, we were a bit concerned, but I am pleased to say that they are renovating and we found our room clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful and friendly and housekeeping cleaned the room and we had fresh towels every day. The only draw back is that it is a bit out of town and we had some problems making sure the bus driver stopped at the correct stop at night. We also had to leave town quite early which was a bit of a draw back.”

“The hallway was a bit smelly (like old carpet) but the room was very clean, big enough and had a good size desk in the room which was very convenient as this was a business trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go to this hotel again.”

“The hotel was ok. They had rain the night before I left and the ceiling and door leaked badly. Also the day clerk that was on duty when I checked out was rude, and would not get off the phone. She was having a private conversation with her boyfriend.”
