• The staff was great.
• The place is run down, needs an overall fixing.

“As you walk in, you can see the dirty hall way carpets, the doors are dirty as well. Too much paint smell in my room, I could hardly sleep. I transferred to 2nd floor, to be able to open the windows. I think the owner is being very cheap and trying to make as much money as he can, while not spending much money to keep it up. It does not worth the money!”

• They had a room for us at the last minute.
• We asked for non smoking and got smoking the sheets was dirty and the place was not clean - mold in bathroom dust along the adages of the carpet, smell.

“The nastiest hotel of this type I have ever stayed in.”

• We were finally upgraded to an acceptable room.
• First 3 rooms offered were unacceptable.

“Many of the rooms were old and dirty. Hall rug was filthy. Reception was not friendly (one of two) First room was smoking room; next room, key did not work. Third room was already occupied. This took 45 minutes. No elevator for second-floor rooms. They finally upgraded us to a very nice first-floor room. Complementary breakfast was good. This hotel is convenient to the interstate and extremely popular.”

• The room was clean.
• No mini fridge.

“The bath room and beds were clean. There was a coffee pot, but coffee filters. Asked for a room with a fridge, but none were available at that time. When calling the front desk, no one picked up till the fourth time calling from the room.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• I don't think the bathroom was cleaned.

“Very comfortable. Slept like a baby on that bed. Quiet, even with the highway right there. Close to shopping. The "continental" breakfast was interesting. It was a make your own waffle bar. Again, interesting but unexpected. I don't think the bathroom was cleaned. When I called the front desk, they said they would send someone up but no one came so I cleaned it myself.”

“The hotel was mostly what you would expect for one with its rating. There was nothing especially appealing about the hotel, but it was fine as just a place to stay at night.”

• Welcoming and helpful staff.
• Corridors are not well enough lighted, atmosphere is stark.

“We were traveling on Christmas day, and arrived early. Almost no one else was in the hotel. There was no food available, and we were told no restaurants were open in Port Jervis. If a hotel is open, there should be food available. But the desk clerk was exceptionally helpful, and the coffee was good. Now, this is important: your directions were flawed. You told us to get off at exit 2, and then gave a complicated route involving country roads and byways. When we arrived at the hotel and asked the clerk about this, she said we should have been told to take exit 1-which we could see from the front door of the hotel! Please modify your directions for west-bound travelers and tell them to take exit 1 and just go up the hill to the motel.”

• Great location.
• Tried to make arrangements ahead of time re-beds and non-smoking, and they did not seem accommodating on the phone.

“Great location, nice view, basic rooms, effort made to provide a good continental breakfast. The rollaway we requested wasn't in the room and there was hair on one bed, but they quickly moved us to another room and all was fine.”
