  • The location was ideal.
  • The hotel was dark, dreary and very overpriced.

“Very dark and depressing atmosphere. The only thing this hotel has to offer is location.”

  • Great ocean view with clean room.
  • Staff incompetence.

“When I checked into the hotel, I found out that the rooms are not wired for internet access, only a public area on the 5th floor is. Therefore, the hotel should not state that it is wireless. The second problem I found out about when I checked-in was that the staff person with whom I spoke neglected to tell me about the construction going on at the hotel. Also, when I checked into the hotel, the staff person sent me to a room that had not been cleaned, then I was directed to a room that was still occupied, then finally I had a key brought to me for the right room. The room mix-up was very unprofessional, but tolerable, however, not having access to the internet in my room, and being awakened by the sound of power tools at 7:30 AM, was just too much. Also, the window insulation is poor, which let in cold air, and the wall and ceiling insulation is non-existent - you hear everything. I switched hotels after 3 days. I will say that the hotel manager was very understanding, apologized for the problems, and reduced my rate for 2 of the nights of my stay. What this hotel has going for it is the exceptional ocean view, and should be considered a summer-time hotel.”

  • Located across from beach.
  • Poor customer service, shabby looking, bad pluming.

“The room was passable. Very small and not all that clean. However, the real problem was, we awoke at 6 am to a brown liquid dripping into our bathroom, on the tub, toilet and floor. They said it was rust. Within a matter of minutes, the ceiling tile was buckling. We called the front desk and they sent maintenance. He was great, said sorry about this, and you need another room, but I had to call back and ask for one. They said, Well we will have to look, we will call you back. The front desk staff were rather unfriendly, acted put out, didn't offer another room until I asked and wanted to put us in a smaller room on the first floor. We couldn't use the bathroom, get a shower, even brush our teeth and had to vacate the room at 7am. They still had no room ready for us and we had all of our bags. They never apologized. Terrible customer service. Old hotel, needs a lot of structural work, smells musty. Great location, right across from beach. ”

“This is a beautiful hotel from the outside. I visited Cape May with my dog, and this is a dog-friendly hotel. That is the good news. The bad news is that the room I was given was not much bigger than the bed. But, it had all the amenities, friendly service, and my room had the view of the ocean.”

  • It is pretty from the outside, but small rooms and no central air
  • We paid extra for a pet room we have a small chihuahua there had clearly been cats in the room and we were all sick with allergies both nights

“The exterior appearance and location in Cape May were good-the restaurant was great. We were very disatisfied with the service we received.”
