• Beach access: Convenient to restaurants and shopping.
• Elevators were hot.

“Hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The kids loved being able to sit on the balcony and look at the beach. Valet parking made it convenient considering the busy location.”

• Beds were ridiculously uncomfortable.

“The hotel is clean and has room service. It is also right on the boardwalk. The pool is tiny, bad for adults, great for children. The hotel restaurant closes early also (9:30 p.m).”

• I like the hotel and love to go there again.
• The restaurant in the hotel food taste horrible and this is the only thing I did not like in the hotel.

“As I said earlier on I personally like the hotel but not the restaurant and if they can do something about it then that will be great.”

• Liked being right at the boardwalk and directly onto beach.
• Parking was hard to find at the hotel and their satellite parking places. Would rather be able to see my vehicle from room.

• Oceanfront rooms/upscale for a great price.
• Restaurant was not open/but it was off-season.

“The hotel was great I requested and received a king bed, the rooms were clean, staff was very helpful and courteous, the location was fine, it was at a quiet section of the beach. I would definitely stay there again for the price. I would recommend it also. This hotel allows dogs, but I only noticed them when I left the room and saw them.”

• The location of the hotel was great in relation to the boardwalk strip.
• There was a college party in the banquet room bringing in allot of noise late night.

“I enjoyed the hotel overall. We enjoyed our view and central location on the boardwalk. The in-house food was good, but due to party they had very little of what the menu said. I would have also liked them to keep better control of the college kids who were loud and rude during there party.”

• Great location on the beach, all rooms oceanfront with balconies.
• Bring your own beach towels!

“The front desk staff person was exceptionally nice, housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was great with balcony overlooking ocean, the beds were comfortable. Nice location in the heart of VA Beach resort area. No complaints whatsoever.”

“Accommodations were adequate and the people were nice enough. I was expecting more for the star rating it had. I have young children and they failed to tell me that the pool would be out of commission my entire stay. They arranged for us to use the pool next door at the Marriott. I would have much rather just booked my stay there then have to run back and fourth from hotel to hotel. The view from the room was great right on the beach.”

• The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
• The key card to our room stopped working a day before we checked out.

“Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Movies in the room are very expensive, but my friend and I weren't in the room for a long amount of time. At one point, we asked if we could use a microwave to heat up some leftovers and they actually sent us up a spare one for the room. That was kinda cool. The view is awesome, since all rooms face the ocean and overlook the boardwalk. The location is prime; right near restaurants, a few bars, some shops. One of the attractions on the beach is horseback riding where you get on the horses is right outside the hotel. All-in-all, it was a pleasant stay and I'd probably stay there next time. The price was appropriate for the place.”

• Carpet very worn, room & hallways not especially clean.

“Positives: friendly desk staff who did try to make our stay pleasant and the location is wonderful. On the dark side: the hotel needs a major refreshing -- and more than paint is needed. Bedcovers, linens, carpets, shower curtains, room furnishings are all very worn so that looking clean is becoming a problem. Without a renovation, I think a change of star rating to 2-2.5 would be more realistic.”

“This hotel has an excellent location, and the ocean views are fantastic! A good hotel can be judged by its attention to detail, and this one just didn't quite cut it when it came to details. For example, our faucet was broken, so water flew everywhere when we washed our hands. The cleaning staff did not make our bed, and a large hamper of dirty sheets/towels was left in the hallway. Also, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, and they put us in a non-smoking room that adjoined a smoking room, so the smoke came in both under the door and through the fan in the bathroom. Parking was bad, even in the off-season. The lot was nearly always full, with a staff car parked illegally in front of the hotel (making turning around difficult). They have additional lots both 1 block and 2 blocks away, meaning you have to cross busy streets.”
