• In the middle of construction, place is torn up.

“The hotel is in the middle of being rebuilt and has major construction going on, it probably should not even be open.”

• Friendly staff, close to the beach.
• Bathroom was not clean, gym was Subpar.

“I enjoyed my stay. I was really impressed by the room and the staff. I didn't like that the bathroom wasn't cleaned and that the gym had no water available or that the equipment was dated. I had stayed at another Holiday Inn the previous weekend where the gym equipment was really nice, if it were standard it would be better.”

• Simply, the location.
• Cleanliness & horrible smell.

“Simply put, don't stay at this hotel. The price was very low, but not worth it. The room smelled horribly, the sheets were not clean, and the overall look inside the hotel was old and dirty. The hotel has so much potential given its location and great kid-friendly features (lazy river, kids room, and several pools), but it needs some serious updating.”

“Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel and pool areas were clean. Parking across the street in garage and loved walking out of ground floor room to grassy area with lounge chairs.”

• Location, ocean front view.
• Very dirty.

“Our bathroom had mold on walls in grout joints in shower, and hair on walls of shower, I assume from previous guests. Tub dripped water the entire time we were there. Floor in front of kitchenette was sticky. Coffee maker did not work. Glass doors to ocean view was filthy! Front desk staff had trouble checking us out as they could not find our reservation.”

• Great Beachfront Location in an uncrowned part and nice enough room.
• Bathroom a bit small.

“We stayed at this hotel 17 years ago; we liked it then and still like it now for excellent value in a wonderful location! It would be even better if they spruced it up a bit now as it is starting to show some wear. Regardless, we plan to go back soon.”

• Nothing.
• Room was in bad shape, food was horrible. The staff was just teenagers who had no clue what to do.

“The pools were dirty and so much bleach was used that you could not even enter the indoor pool without having tearing in your eyes. The room had broken phone, and the AC in the room was not shutting off or on and it took us two days to bring someone to fix this problem. The balcony was dirty and it took two days to bring someone to clean the balcony. The bathroom was more like one star hotel. The mattress were very uncomfortable. Every morning I had backache because of the mattress. I would never stay in Holiday Inn.”

• The hotel is in a great location lots of shopping and other attractions are nearby.
• The hotel looked very tired and was in need of repairs and overall cleaning to the pool and other high traffic areas.

“We were surprised by an ocean view which was the best part of the hotel. On our floor the glass windows in the hallway were filthy. The same fingerprints were there our entire visit. I do not think the inside of the elevator was cleaned at all during our visit. We will return to Virginia Beach but not to this hotel.”

• I loved the access to the beach. My children loved the indoor pool with the rock formation.
• The hotel decor appeared old and dated. It seems in need of remodeling.

“The hotel itself was nicely located on the beach. Beach access is wonderful. The city itself is clean and appears very safe. The hotel was family friendly and all staff extremely courteous. The only drawback was the need to update the interior and room decor. The elevators were old and operated very slowly.”

“I was very disappointed. I had asked for 2 double beds because I brought my children and only king bed was available. Then the air would not work we cleaned the filters which were full of dust and the coils but the room never was cool. The TV had problems that it would not turn on and then when you got it on it would not turn off and the changer worked only sometimes, you would have to get up to change the channel. I never got anything replenished such as my coffee for my coffee maker, and had to beg for towels each day. One day I asked 4 times for towels. I did not think this was a 3 star hotel and I will not be going back there. I was having a hard time already taking this vacation without my son, he had died recently unexpected and I have just passed through having breast cancer from the stress of losing him and really just wanted sometime away and not have to think about anything. I really had no idea what I was going to do. Thankfully another couple came-in from our home town that had brought there family to Virginia Beach the same time as us and took my girls to there hotel at night to sleep there because they had a pull out couch. I would like to know how I was going to reach you, and if you could of resolved anything I was going through.”

• Dirty, slow elevators; overall not a nice hotel.

“I was not impressed with this hotel at all. The elevators ran very slow. We were on the top floor so it was a pain having to wait or use the stairs when you're carrying all your beach gear. The room had a nice view, but it was not very clean. For the price, I expected a much nicer hotel. If I head back to VA Beach, I would never stay at this hotel again.”

• I liked that it was on the beach.
• A continental breakfast was not free.

“It was pretty good. My overall experience was good. When you check in the person checking you in should explain where everything is instead of me having to ask all the questions. We found a really cool pool the day we were leaving, we did not even get to use it because we didn't know it was there. Our family even rented bikes from another hotel because we did not know our hotel offered them. The hotel should be a little more cleaner. The couch that folds out should be more comfortable. A few dishes with dish soap and a dish towel should be provided for the small kitchen. The fact that it was ocean view is awesome!”

• I loved all of the pools.
• The stairs were ugly and smelled like marshmallows.

“The hotel was very kid-friendly. I should know; I am 10 years old. I loved all the pools! The room with the inside pool and 2 Jacuzzis was hot. The lazy river was relaxing and the outside pool was crowded and lots of fun. The people at the front desk were nice. The maid always placed my stuffed animal (dog) on my bed. I also liked the beach scenes restaurant. They had a breakfast buffet. The kids ate for free and the adults ate for 10 dollars. I loved the way the hall smelled. The balcony gave me a good view of the beach and the boardwalk. The beds were very comfy. The stairs were ugly and smelled like marshmallows. I stayed at the hotel for a week and it was affordable. I had so much fun at the hotel I really want to come back again some time soon.”
