• Location.
• Everything: Price, decor, room condition, beds, staff, bathroom condition.

“The bathroom shower, faucets were ancient and in pretty bad condition. The tub was discolored - my 4 year old son refused to take bath in 'yucky bathroom'. The toilet was always too full with water and the flush tank was huge and ancient. The hotel staff looked over worked & exhausted and was not friendly or even courteous or cooperative. At 2.30 am, we could hear noises from adjacent room. The A/C was horribly loud. The worst hotel (after Ramada Inn) that we have stayed so far. Balcony was dirty, the sliding door was ancient. The beds were again extremely uncomfortable. The only thing good about it was the location.”

• Proximity to the ocean.
• Needs updating!

“Going to The Cavalier has been a long-time family tradition of mine. I went with my grandparents and now I take my children. Each year we love the proximity to the ocean/pool, outdoor dining and breakfast buffet but last year I reached my limit of tolerance and cannot return UNTIL the hotel updates and cleans the rooms. The decor is exactly the same as when I was a teen (early 80's)! For the price, it should be better kept.”

• A1 service from the time I checked in until the time I left.
• The lounge in the lobby was not air-conditioned!!

• The location was very convenient.
• I expected the interior to be newer or at least better maintained.

“The hotel was very conveniently located. You cannot get any closer to the water than that. It had all the amenities that one could ask for and the staff were very friendly. It was a pleasant stay. The only thing that I could comment negatively on was the condition of the hotel and rooms. For the price I paid, I wish it would have been better maintained. I am not really very picky about extras but I do like to feel clean. I will stay at a newer hotel a little further from the water next time.”

• Location, closer to residential north end.
• It is ready for a remodel- esp. bathroom showers.

“Great location, friendly staff. Programs for children. It is about time for hotel to spend some funds on improving and remodeling the aging building.”

• Clean and friendly staff.
• Not a good value for money paid.

“Hotel is nice and friendly place to stay. however it is towards the north end of the beach. but the rate is not any cheaper.”
