  • Staff was super helpful and friendly.
  • Grout around bathtub coming off, walls were not as clean as should be, desk chair soiled.

  • The items in the store were over priced.

  • New and clean, decent price.
  • $8.95 for breakfast bar?! Give me a break! Inconvenient to have to take the time to go out and find coffee and bagel.

“Very clean and spacious, never got to use pool or anything like that. Was extremely disappointed that to get anything for breakfast would be $8.95. Traveling with my 17 yr old daughter, I usually go down for a cup of coffee and something simple while she gets ready. It became a major time waster to have to find a place to find breakfast in a strange area before resuming our trip. These days you just expect every hotel to include some sort of breakfast. Otherwise it was a great experience. Does anyone really read these, anyway?”

  • Location, computers in lobby, good breakfast.
  • Check in and check out were a pain, to say the least.

“This is the second time we've stayed here and we enjoyed it but check in and check out were incredibly slow. Two different clerks who didn't know how to do various things or use the computer well. Worst check in and check out I've seen in a VERY long time.”

  • The location compared to my sisters home. Only a mile a way. That helped with gas.
  • The staff is the worse I have ever experienced in my life.

“The hotel in and of itself was fine. The staff, on the other hand, took rude to a whole another level. The first issue I had was after the first night there. Me an my mom left the room so that house keeping could come in and clean the room. In the mean time, my mom and I hung out down stairs because my sister (who lives in Newport news) was at work. We went up to our room three times over a 45 minute period. House keeping was in our room. Went back up there, house keeping had done nothing. Absolutely nothing. What she was doing in our room, I have no clue. So I went down stairs to tell the front desk. The housekeeper who was in our room out and lied and told the front desk clerk that she was never in our room. My mom, my niece (who is local to Newport news) were all witness. We saw her go in and out of the room over the 45 minute span. That is when a (I am assuming) a member of management came at told me that the housekeeper said our do not disturb sign was left on the door (per what the housekeeper told her). First of all I am not brand new to staying at hotels. I work for one of the largest insurance companies in the nation. I travel a lot for - strangely enough - customer service. I know not leave the do not disturb sign on the door. What that woman was doing in our room is beyond me. From that day forward, I took the do not disturb sign with me. The housekeeper never tried that trick again. I did not want to get into an argument with the front desk staff. I was on vacation. Besides, 90% of the staff had attitudes to stop a clock, so it was not going to be worth it. I noticed, however, whenever I went down stairs to use the computer and I saw white people checking out, the front desk staff was as happy as could be. I was saying please and thank you and apologizing for things I should not have. The only decent people were the people at the breakfast buffet, one of the guys who was a bell-hop, and one young lady who was ethnic perhaps.”

  • Nice room for price.
  • Room was not cleaned after 1st night.

“Probably would stay again. Price was ok. The only complaint was that our room was not cleaned after our first night's stay. After 2nd night it was cleaned.”

  • The staff was great I loved the location right next door to ruby Tuesdays and Texas steak house.
  • No vending machines and the food priced too high.

“This hotel is so clean it smells clean and has a really nice look to it. The rooms are very nice and clean and offer free internet service and has a pool and spa. Will stay here each time I travel to VA.”

  • Great location, clean indoor pool, with a friendly staff to help you.
  • The spa has been under repair for a week. I was so looking forward to my hot dip in the spa to be disappointed in was under repair.

“Good location, easy access to major shopping spots. Bright clean rooms with a large breakfast area with two computers for internet access. Friendly staff with a can do attitude to help you.”

  • The rooms were large, staff was friends and the hotel was immaculate.
  • The exercise room needs better quality equipment.

“I've never stayed at a Courtyard before and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the entire facility was very neat and clean. There are several shopping areas nearby and it appears to be in a safe neighborhood. We had a tremendous experience there and will definitely stay there again.”

  • The beds rooms were clean and comfortable. We were all able to relax and truly enjoy our hotel stay. We'd use them again. Definitely!
  • Our toilet stopped up twice, but housekeeping came immediately to plunge it. They were fast!

“Family friendly, great location and comfortable! Our next visit to the Williamsburg area will be great! I no longer have to wonder about accommodations. We will stay at the Courtyard by Marriott. No question.”
