• The oatmeal soap in the shower was the highlight of the whole experience!
• Everything else. Bugs, dirty, and small parking spaces.

“I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean place to stay. The first room I went into had roaches and some bugs in the bed that looked almost like a small spider and the bathroom was very dirty. There were dead flies all over the chair next to the bed. I asked for another room and once again there were roaches in it, the toilet had something going down the front of it that I'd rather not guess what it was and there were beer bottle caps on the floor by the bed. Also the fridge had a pool of water in front of it and the floor was very dirty. I was traveling with a 5 year old daughter, and she was afraid to sleep because of all the bugs. Honestly so was I. Finally the 3rd room was bug free that I saw and was somewhat clean. I made my daughter walk around in shoes at all time as the floor was filthy. The bathroom door had something all over the front of it and also the kitchen area was very dirty (food/spills on wall). The lady at the front desk was very accommodating, but said this was all unheard of, which I find hard to believe. All three rooms smelled funny, not sure what the odor was, it was not smoke. I would never stay here again. Next time I will spend the few extra dollars and stay somewhere else! I understand the price was right, but at the same time, I do expect a clean room, just less amenities. There was nothing clean about this hotel!”

• Dirty room, said it was non-smoking but was very Smokey.

“When we came to the hotel, it looked nice from the outside. However entering the lobby the employees were rude and the room they gave us was "non smoking." When we entered the room it smelled so bad of smoke we went to a store and bought an air freshener. You had to pay for the use of Internet in the room. Also the TV satellite went out and when I called down to the office, they said they would tell someone the next day about it.”

• The distance it took from the hotel to my friends houses.
• The cleanliness. Bed sheets didn't smell good. Restroom dirty.

“I loved the location of this hotel and its surroundings. There are lots to do around the hotel I stayed in but Im very disappointed on the cleanliness of the hotel. I told the hotel staff about the dirty bed sheets and dirty wash towels and I got no reply.”

• Convenience location to everything.
• Well it was just a small mistake trash was not empty under kitchen sink. But everything still fine.

• Price, convenient location.
• Only 1 bed available (we took an aero bed for the 2nd person).

“Room was freshly painted and seemed clean. All rooms have access from outside, which may be a concern to some, but works well for me. Very close to a grocery store for stocking the refrigerator. As in most extended stay hotels, there are limited dishes and towels, but enough for 2 persons.”

• Staff was very professional & helpful.
• For the price, nothing!

“Staying at Newport news ESA oyster point was a very pleasant, relaxing experience. The price was right and I was even able to save more because of the room amenities (refrigerator, stove, microwave) that was included in the room. Management and staff were very professional and accommodating. I would definitely recommend ESA to other travelers who are trying to budget their money, but also stay in a comfortable environment.”

• Kitchenette.
• The room smells bad.

“The room smell like smoke. We had to carry our dirty towels to the lobby to get clean ones and were there for three nights. I had to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes before any one would show up. The reason I had to wait is because the housekeeper that come to work so the receptionist had to clean the rooms.”

“I enjoyed the hotel. Even though there was a mix up with which room was mine at first they fixed everything quickly. I enjoyed my stay. I will definitely use Extended Stay in the future!”

“My room was at the end of the building next to a trash bin which invited millions of bugs to enter my room when I opened the door. The weather stripping was partially missing from the door so I had to keep a towel at my door so bugs wouldn't come in at the holes. I constantly had flies in my room; every night when I went to sleep I killed all of them, when I woke up there were about 3-5 more. There were ants in my kitchen area. My biggest problem was the flies and being next to the trash bin that brought the bugs.”

• The price, the staff was VERY helpful, location!
• The pillow cases were not clean, I could not open the coffee bag, and it was European coffee.

“The price taking into account, I think that it was OK. Essentially, the staff was friendly, helpful and willing to work on the problems and to solve them to my satisfaction.”

• It was in a good location on Route 143 and the room quality was nice.
• The staff was a bit inattentive.

“The hotel is located in the Oyster Point section of Newport News which is a decent area. It seems very good for business travelers. The bed was quite comfortable and the room contained a full kitchen.”

• The staff corrected the initial cleanliness issues and let me in the room early.
• The spread had a crusty stain on it and the blanket had a brown stain on it.
