“The hotel was the standard Holiday Inn hotel we all have become accustomed too.. clean room with reasonable amenities. On Christmas holiday, the hotel was virtually empty--but the plumbing was still noticeable and to loud,...a problem with most American hotels. Location requires an auto; 10 min to Towson; 30min to Inner harbor; 20 to Hunt Valley”

• Room was great. Refrigerator/Microwave in room.
• Breakfast was not good. Ran out of food everyday.

• Conveniently located, friendly staff.
• Noise! Dogs barking at 6 AM, kids playing in the hallway.

“I have stayed at this hotel before and found it quite acceptable. The staff has always been friendly and was on this occasion as well. However, this stay was punctuated with disturbing noise. It is a pet friendly hotel and at 6:00 each morning there was a little dog barking (to go out, I suppose). There were also children (4 - 6 years old) playing in the hallway at all hours. One night I heard them at 12:30 AM (yes after midnight!). I am reluctant to return to this hotel.”

• hallway to room smelled bad, room itself smelled bad

“I was given a smoking room without asking if that's what I wanted. I got off of the elevator and was hit by an odor(smoke perhaps). My room reaked of smoke so much that I had to buy a deodorizer and sprayed it down twice to get rid of the smell. Visually the room was ok, nothing special, typical hotel room.”

• Staff attempted to help eventually.
• It took over 30 minutes to check in due to issues with multiple keys.

“Forget the cost. It's not worth the inconvenience. I was not the only unhappy guest that continually had to visit the front desk. They never got my key issue straight and I had to have the maintenance man let me in my room every time I left. What a joke.”

• Front desk was very helpful.
• Very dark in the parking lot.

“The room was spacious. The parking lot did
not seem busy, yet we were in a room with guests on either side. The room was very clean, smelled fresh. Bed was great.”

• Whoever choose the bedding was a sadist.

“Beds were horrible, room was adequate but you'll be seeing a lot of it as sleep is next to impossible. Parking lot hangs over tiny cliff in areas with no fencing. I am sure some car has gone over. Parking lot impossible to turn around in.”

• The front desk was helpful in moving me from my smoky - non smoking room.
• One of the worst experiences ever!

• The room was big and there was a refrigerator and microwave in it.

“It was a nice hotel. We were in town for a wedding and it was in a good location, and it definitely exceeded our expectations.”

• Free internet.
• Very dirty, shabby, smelled bad.

“The Holiday Inn Towson is not a three star property. It is 1-2 stars in quality even if it has a pool/restaurant. The pool was closed until noon or 1 each day, the lobby computer was greasy, the furniture in the room was scratched terribly and looked like it was not fit for a tag sale.”

“The hallway carpets were stained and dirty. The night we checked in we walked into a room that was already occupied. We were given free breakfast to compensate (I hope the people we walked in on were compensated as well). Compared to the Sheraton (3 star) across town, this is not a 3 star hotel.”

• The staff is by far the best asset to the hotel, always eager to help, dessert samples in lobby is
  also very nice.

• Close to highway.

“We were in Towson to move our child into dorm. Arrived at hotel at 5:00 PM. Was told they only had king bed smoking room. Front desk tried to help they gave us 2 roll away beds. The smell of smoke was overwhelming and made for a terrible stay. The next morning went down the elevator with guest checking out of desired room type. The front desk change our room by midday. Hugh difference. Fresh smelling and looking room with newer bedding and amenities. I still feel this hotel is not worth 3 stars after visiting the Marriott and Sheraton in Towson, the Holiday Inn is not in the same league.”

• Compared to what was bad, nothing.

“Terrible. Bathroom needed to be fixed, we complained to front desk, nothing was done about it. Restaurant was horribly overpriced. ($2.50 for a cold cup of coffee?) Who on your staff looked at this place and made it 3 stars? It's was a pretty bad experience.”

• This hotel should not have a 3 star rating. Compared to other 3 star hotels I have stayed at, this should be a 1 star.

“Hotel is dirty! Food crumbs in the room on the rug when I arrived in multiple areas. Bugs that looked like fleas in the room and bathroom. Also saw bugs that resembled roaches in the lounge area walking across the floor. Toilet was not properly cleaned. Room was dark and dreary with a musty mildew odor. Generic items in bathroom for personal use. This hotel is awful!”
