“For the price, that's the cheapest hotel around the area with basic commodities such as wireless internet and free coffee in the room. I'm young and fit, but it was a pain to have to carry the suitcase up the stairs, and the 3rd floor they call is actually on the 4th level, so it's quite a climb. Surprisingly they had a cooker as well, but no pots/pans so guess not much use. The water in the bath takes about 10 minutes to warm up, but it does get pretty hot so I had no problems. I walked around the area and it didn't feel too bad although not very sure. The staff was just normal, not too friendly or rude. I would stay again for that price!”

“This hotel has such potential to be exquisite and has missed the mark miserably. You see glimpses of beauty from the days of charm and elegance, but dust from the 1800's and huge chunks of peeling paint and extremely uneven floor takes away from the coziness of what is a place pretending to be a B&B. Properly refurbished and they could charge good price easily. At this time, not worth the my price, especially if you are staying to attend events at the Mariner. Hoped for charm an femininity for a teenage girls 1 day Christian event, but the girls were uneasy (some even scared), and anxious to leave. We stayed on the 4th floor (no working elevator and no help in bringing luggage up) in a room where the floors sagged, smelled musty, peeling paint, no water pressure, and no hot water, not enough towels (and told there were no more towels to give out), no working soda machine, no ice/water on any level of the hotel except the first. And an 8 block walk to the Mariner, through questionable parts of the neighborhoods. Such potential here, but none of it realized. Oh the staff of what appeared to be 1, was very kind - however, a staff of one was not sufficient.”

“The wonderful architecture of this hotel compliments the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Though the Biltmore does not offer what most would consider essentials for a hotel, like WiFi or a plethora of electrical outlets, it retains an old world charm that makes this location my preferred stop in Baltimore. Each room is individually decorated and appointed with a spacious cabinet fridge, a microwave and an electric burner, along with plates and tableware.”

“In addition to being a bit musty and dusty, our room was a third floor walk up with no assistance to carry bags. The walls between the rooms were not sound proof, allowing our neighbors fighting and young children crying to waken us at 2 am at which time we called the front desk and complained. Some attempts had been made to brighten up the room with new curtains and stenciling on the walls, but the overall feeling was drab.”

“While I expected a nostalgic feel to the hotel as the building was built in the 1800s I did not expect to see dust from the 1800s. The room was not very clean. A broken TP dispenser was on top of medicine cabinet covered in dust. The old mount brackets for multiple towel racks were still on the wall. Had no heat or hot water my first night in hotel. Elevator was out and I had to carry bags up 8 flights of stairs. I booked 3 nights but only stayed 2.”

“The hotel is beautiful, the architecture is fantastic. It has however seen better days and they were quite a while ago. The room was clean and spacious with our free suite upgrade decorated with colors and furniture that reminded me of the good old days, but the mattresses were very old and very soft. The staff was helpful and courteous. It's advertised as in the "Inner Harbor" neighborhood, but the inner harbor and ballpark were a 1.5 mile walk away through a neighborhood that made me remind myself to put my money in my sock. Being the adventurous don't really like the cookie cutter hotel chains types that we are, we'd probably stay there again. If you're fond of the Holiday Inn and Ramada I'd recommend shelling out the extra few dollars and stay there.”

“Interesting place, lots of history but room was in disrepair. Tables and nightstands had many burns in them and looked bad. No hot water and room is rather small.”

“The hotel is nice and it's very clean. The staff was good, very friendly, knowledgeable about Baltimore and where to go and what to see. Very helpful. The neighborhood can only be described as ghetto. Boarded up buildings, homeless people, etc. If you're out after dark, as we planned to be, it's a big risk to life and wallet. After touring neighborhood in daylight, we checked out and went to Days Inn. I would never go there again.”
