“The people were nice, and the location was OK. The shower went from scalding to freezing at random and the tub was dangerously slippery. I had to call housekeeping to borrow a hairdryer. The towels were terrible-scratchy, small and ragged edges. I use better towels to dry my dog! The door keys kept deprogramming. In the course of a three day stay I had to walk over to the front lobby in the dark to get my keys reset three times. The grounds are very dark at night. The coffee maker in the room is a joke. I would not go back to this hotel, nor would I recommend it.”

“The Quality Inn Lord Paget was surprisingly nice for the price that we paid, it was clean and comfortable and was in a nice location. There was a mini golf course, pool, and beautiful pond on sight not to mention that there were friendly ducks walking around. It was a truly genuine experience. I will certainly be back!”

“There was no heat in my room. I called to complain about it and the attendant said he would look into it and call me back. He never did. I called back again and he said he had made some adjustments to the heat and it should be getting better. It did not get better. I called back again and at 4AM a small space heater was finally delivered to the room. I only got about 2 hours of sleep which ruined my day at the conference that morning. The personnel should have been more responsive by giving me a different room or at least providing some additional blankets. I asked for a refund the next morning and was told that I only paid half price for the room anyway.”

“My wife and daughter checked in late Saturday night and went to bed. I got up the next morning with intention to take a shower. Since the only color of water they offered was brownish yellow, I decided not to use my shower. It also had a raw sewage odor. The front desk was "shocked" (I guess it just turned that color over night) but they gave me a key to an "empty" room that we could shower in. The man who was toweling himself off in the second room didn't agree that the room was empty. Seeing his bare bottom before my first cup of coffee was not pleasant either. The front desk decided they would send a workman to escort me to the third room. At least this room was empty. However, I objected to the fact that the room had not been cleaned in days (dried out wash clothes standing up by themselves, lots of hair in sink and tub, dirty towels on the floor). However, they did have the beds made but I can not attest to the sheets cleanliness. When I asked for a refund I was told that we slept in the beds and therefore were not entitled to a refund. Obviously they don't believe that a usable shower is part of the entire hotel experience.”

“For the money, this hotel is a great value. The facility is showing its age in terms of infrastructure. AC couldn't quite handle the august heat. However, the staff was very friendly and the rooms were really clean. Whitest sheets Ive seen in a hotel! Would definitely use again and recommend to others.”

“The Lord Paget is a charming, clean, and unique hotel. The hotel is conveniently near James Town, Williamsburg, and York Town. It was absolutely repulsive to discover that our room was a smoking room at 1 am when two smoking rooms surrounding our room filled our room with smoke. Fortunately, hotel staff permitted a room change to a non-smoking room the following day. I definitely recommend the Lord Paget.”

“This hotel is in much need of a total overhaul. The pool was out of service when we arrived and were told it would be fixed by next morning. The next evening we were told it would be open by 7pm, well it never opened it thunder stormed the next morning it was bright and sunny the pool still never opened. The only reason we had stayed was because the pool was supposed to be fixed. The internet pictures show rooms with colonial furnishings, I'd like to know where they were, my room hadn't been updated since 1970, and even the TV was an old tube set with a turn channel tuner. Wow-what a joke this was.”

“We really enjoyed this hotel. The kids loved the pool and the duck pond on the property. They liked feeding the ducks and the turtles. There was a grassy area to play ball or frisky. The room was large and so was the bathroom. We also liked that we could pull up right to the door of our room. The area was slightly wooded and the all of the rooms have concrete/brick porches to sit on. We will likely use this hotel again. The only thing I would have liked to have was a hot tub.”

“I would never stay here again. There were spiders in the room, the air conditioning barely cooled the room. The pool had a padlock on it at 4:00 in the afternoon. There was no coffeemakers in the room and the coffeemaker at the hotel was broke.”

“This is an older hotel, but very charming. The grounds and pool were beautiful and well kept. Our only complaint was that we requested a no smoking room, and were told that we were in one, but the room smelled terribly of smoke and had ashtrays in it. There also was not a "no smoking" sign outside our door, as was present on several other doors.”
