  • Friendly staff, cleanliness, very cozy.
  • Swimming pool was full of bugs and breakfast consist o the same food.

“This hotel is very recommended. I did lose my camera in the lobby and it was never turned it but the hotel is very recommended.check out was very easy, rooms cleaned daily, room service was very professional and proficient to my needs.”

  • Location was nice, Friendly staff, I felt safe.
  • Hot water problems, Refridgerator blocking walk area.

“Other than the minor problems listed, which was discussed with hotel management, I would stay at this location again.”

  • The colonial/southern decor is quite nice.
  • Front desk staff in the evening was little slow and TV reception bad.

“The hotel public areas are very homey - looking, and decorated in a southern, colonial style. The sleeping room was also decorated nicely with wallpaper borders and a nice homey feel. The bathroom was a little cramped, and the TV reception was very grainy - if they have cable, it's a very bad service, otherwise I'd say it was from an antenna which was not getting great reception. The bed was reasonably comfortable. This was perfect for me, as I usually like more pillows than provided. Free wireless internet made me very happy. A few breads, including my favorite raising bagel, some mini-muffins and pastries, two cereals, a basket of whole apples, and coffee, milk and juice completed the array. The flat screen TV in the breakfast room was nice. The hotel is not handicap accessible. Even if you are not confined to a wheelchair, if you use rolling suitcases, be prepared to lift them over curbs and either walk long distances to the only (very slow) elevator or carry them up a flight of stairs if you have a room on an upper floor. My room was on the second floor, and the ice machine on that floor wasn't working, so I had to down to the first floor to get ice.”

  • Location.
  • Breakfast room was too small.

“Relatively old hotel. The room in which the continental breakfast was served was too small to accommodate the number of people. That made it unpleasant.”

  • Location, cleanliness, exceeded expectations.
  • Wished it had an indoor pool.

“Upon my arrival, I was taken back by Front Porch that wrapped around this hotel, and once I entered the hotel, it exceeded all my expectations, it had a beautiful Victorian interior appearance which was well kept, clean and we were greeted by such a wonderful crew, and we were very pleased by our room size. Nothing what so ever to complain about. Very Pleased.”

  • The staff was nice although didn't know much about the area. Free breakfast, close to the attraction.
  • Smelled bad, the elevator barely moved and the door took many tries to close. Not clean in general.

“The staff had no idea where anything is, which people rely on when traveling. The elevator was so dangerous we opted for the stairs. The hallways smelled like feet. With some cleaning, maybe new carpeting, teaching the staff where what is in the area and fixing the elevator it can be much safer and nicer.”

  • Dirty, no air conditioning in public areas or hallways.

“This hotel was not 2 star.”

  • Location.
  • Filthy walls/doors, never been cleaned, really bad mattress.

“The hotel staff were great and the lobby looked really nice. Our room looked okay, but when you took a closer look you noticed that the walls and the doors were disgusting (feces wiped on the back of the bathroom door!). The breakfast was really cheap/poor quality.”

  • The parking lot entrance was not the cleanest.

“It was a nice place to stay. It was a busy hotel for the weekend that we chose. I would recommend it.”

  • Nothing.
  • Air conditioner worked for 2 minutes every hour.

“The pictures of the hotel room are misleading. The rooms don't look anything like the cozy pictures. Our air conditioner worked about two minutes out of every hour (outside temperature was 95 degrees in August). We reserved a room with a microwave/small fridge. Every room is not equipped with a micro/fridge. They have a few that the roll from room to room. It took four hours of constant phone calls and trips to the front desk to finally get our micro/fridge (which they had to take from another guest). The dresser was missing drawer pulls. The door to the balcony was stuck and would not open (most rooms do not have balconies by the way). The phone didn't have an instruction card. The only way to contact housekeeping or the front desk was to guess what number to push. I'm a business admin professor and have taught hotel management courses. In my professional opinion this hotel is a disaster.”

  • Upgrade to a suite was free and the room was beautiful beyond our expectations.
  • The continental breakfast was wanting. No fresh fruit or yogurt and only 1 type of cereal.

“The hotel staff was wonderful and very accommodating to our special requests (we have 4 young children). The suite we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. I will stay at this hotel if ever I am in or near Williamsburg, van.”

  • Exterior appearance.
  • Not clean.

“Cob webs on ceiling. Dirty toilet and toilet seat, poor vacuuming. Back of comforter had many stains. Was afraid to look at the mattress. Will not stay there again. Voiced my concerns with the manager.”

  • The hotel was not clean. I experience the worst customer service of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Housekeeping forgot to clean the room.

“I have stayed at other days Inns but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The tub in the hotel room was horrendous. The hotel room did not have an ice bucket so my husband asked for one at the front desk. He was given a dirty bucket and when he told the front desk about that they gave him a trash liner to cover the dirt in the bucket. He explained that he wanted a clean ice bucket. The person at the front desk seemed a little perturbed by the request. Additionally, housekeeping forgot to clean our room. When we told the front desk about it we were told that housekeeping was gone for the day. I told them that I would like someone to clean my room as it should have been. The person at the front desk informed me that she would try to clean my room but that she didn't really know how to clean a room. She then asked me to detail what I would like to have done to the room. I told her the typical cleaning. She didn't seem to understand what I was requesting so I spent the next few minutes trying to explain to her what is typically done when you clean a hotel room. In the end I told her to just bring me some towels. My husband and I were so frustrated by the experience that we decided to leave that night at 7 P.M. When we checked out we explained to the lady at the front desk why we were leaving and it didn't really seem to faze her one way or another. I will never stay there again.”

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“It was positively filthy. There was grime from one end of the room to the other, there was mold, the bathtub needed to be caulked, the tile in the bathroom was clearly a health hazard, fixtures were missing and rusted, the iron didn't work, the floors had not been vacuumed, the extra blanket supplied was pilled and tattered and dirty, the towels had a slight yellow hue, the mirror was missing part of a frame, wallpaper was coming off the wall, there were hole in the ceiling, there were dust bunnies on the ceiling, the sink was cracked and stained, the ironing board was stained, the door did not latch correctly, there was scum as though someone has vomited on the inside of the bathroom door, and these are just the few items that I noted. The clerk offered to cancel the reservation, and did so. ”
