• Staff was very helpful.
• Filthy bathroom and floors in room - disgusting.

“2 day or less stay ok for the $$; filthy bathroom and floors; bring cleaners. Price is good for the quality level; breakfast not served till 7am and was too late for our needs. Staff was very friendly and helpful; they try, just need to clean up! Great location to Colonial Williamsburg.”

• The room was clean and smoke-free.
• The hotel is run-down and somewhat creepy.

“This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The interior seems to be slowly falling apart and there appears to be no interest in making it looks nicer. The hallways and lobby are smelly and depressing. The only good part of the place was our room, which was clean and, although not luxurious, good enough. However, the 1" crack under the front door let in every noise from the hallway - a reminder of where we were.”

• The staff was "over the top" accommodating for my circumstances.
• Ice machine on 2nd floor not working and full of mold, and fridge in my room not working and smelly.

“Obviously an old building, much in need of updating. Thank heavens, I like a firm mattress because they are as hard as other reviewers have mentioned. However, the staff were so accommodating, allowing me to check in early, and stay late on check out day so that I could get some sleep (I was working nights in the area), that it made up for any of the small inconveniences I encountered.”

• The pool was very nice.
• The beds are terrible. I have slept better on the floor. They are hard and uncomfortable!

“The hotel was ok. Not exactly as I expected. They need a renovation and new beds ASAP. It was clean enough and I didn't see any bugs (which would have killed it for me). The pool was very clean and inviting. Housekeeping did clean daily (although the tub could use a bit of work) and the room looked good. However, the hallway smelled old and musty as did the elevator which is kind of, well, dilapidated. The people were nice.”

• Water was hot.
• Nasty! Hard as a brick mattress, corroded faucets, nasty carpet nasty chairs nasty ceiling big brown nasty mark on wall, holes all in blanket .

“Filth everywhere. Halls dirty. Room dirty. Two year old complained about "broken blanket", multiple moth / holes in blanket. TV-stand wobbly and unsafe around children. Sink very slow to drain. Unbelievable terrible experience.”

• Free parking & within walking distance to the College of William and Mary.
• Dirty and smelly rooms/hotel.

“I had very low expectations. And I was not disappointed. If you just need a bed for a night, the Super 8 will do it for you, but do not look too closely or you will be grossed out by stains and hairs left behind by generations of travelers. Worst thing: My room smelled really bad and you cannot open the windows to let in fresh air. Anyway, pretty good location.”

• Elevator and hallways need updating.

“I was a little worried about staying here after reading contradictory reviews, but my boyfriend and I wanted to go to Busch Gardens and we were on a budget so this worked well for us. I was scared by the pictures on line, but it is much better in person. My expectations were low, but were well exceeded. All we wanted was a clean place to sleep and shower and we definitely got that. The staff was great and helped us with everything we needed. The elevator is old and I tended to hold my breath as we walked down the hallway because it didn't smell too nice, but the room was was large and comfortable and that was all we could ask for. I have seen cleaner rooms, but I have also been in worse. The location was excellent with all of the attractions within a few minutes and we could walk to a grocery store, drug store, and restaurants if needed. There were also ice machines and stocked vending machines and a clean pool. Overall, this was a good experience and I would stay here again.”

“I was pleasantly surprised to see a microwave and fridge in the room. The room was nice but the bathroom was small and the bed was so hard my back hurt and I could not stay the second night.”

• Great location and friendly staff.
• Breakfast and some guests.

“This is a good choice for the traveler who wants to save money and only expect a place to sleep. Considering the price, the plain breakfast and cleanness are OK to me. However, while other guests are good and quiet, we do encounter a family being very loud and saying something very inappropriate in front of young children at the pool.”
