  • We had 7 people in our party and got a 2 bedroom with 1 queen sofa bed and had plenty of room. I definitely will go back!
  • They forgot to leave a blanket for the sleeper sofa and pillow cases.

“We loved it!”

  • Beautiful location.
  • Room needed some updates.

“My husband and I decided to plan a last minute weekend getaway to Williamsburg, Virginia to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Powhatan Plantation seemed to be a good fit, since we were looking for somewhere to relax and have some privacy, but still be close to all the local attractions. Upon arrival, the man at the front gate was very courteous. He directed us to where we needed to go to check-in. The grounds were gorgeous. Check-in was quick, although in order to get your parking pass you will have to go through a person who will try to get you to go to Powhatan Plantation's timeshare presentation. We opted not to. As we arrived at our "townhouse" we noticed there were 3 large mattresses blocking our only designated parking space. My husband had to move them as there was no one else there to do it. The suite was very clean and seemed to be nicely kept, except for the garden tub and private Jacuzzi, which both had very noticeable signs of wear. Everything was in good working order though, and the bed was comfy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and we wish we could have stayed a bit longer.”

  • It had a kitchen, hate to eat out.
  • Very noisy people above us, hard to sleep.

“Many lights not work, smoke detector kept going off (bad battery), people above us very loud at night, patio door lock broken. Not an enjoyable stay. Will not stay there again.”

  • We all stayed in shared living space with our own private rooms.
  • Hot tub & TV didn't work & check in was awful.

“It is a great place to stay with a group of people. Has a full kitchen and is close to supermarket & other stores. And most importantly close to Busch Gardens.”

  • Pools, security.
  • Broken air conditioner, broken DVD player, unsafe for toddlers.

“We ran into several issues while staying here on vacation (broken air conditioner, my son was injured, etc.). When we tried to address them with the resort manager, he waited 1 and a half days to call back. I never got to talk to him. The staff were not very accommodating---they could have cared less, unless you are an owner at that resort. Overall, it's run down and not very clean.”

“The resort is in the midst of being updated. The room was a bit tired but very nice. Staff was a little disorganized.”

  • It was affordable and offered plenty of room for the whole family.
  • Updates need to be done; housekeeping does not keep up with repairs and replacements.

“The one bedroom with loft is a great deal for families with small children. However, there are some strange things about the furniture in the loft. The mattresses do not fit the beds and the beds are falling apart. Watch out for that. Light bulbs were out and missing everywhere, so housekeeping is not doing a great job. They are in the process of updating some of the units, but there is no way to say which you will get. They are decent and roomy units; they just have a few problems. The kids loved it there and it was great having the privacy of 2 bedrooms at a one bedroom price!”

  • Location, relaxation, very kid friendly.
  • There was nothing I didn't Like.

“This was our first visit, and it went beyond our expectations. It was so beautiful and warm and inviting. The staff was wonderful. You walked in and felt like you were at home. The suite had all the comforts of home and more. We are definitely going back. I believe we have found our new get away.”

“Staff were horrible. Check in wait time was over an hour. ”

  • Activities for kids, rugs a bit needing help.

“Although I've seen many shaky reviews, we went there with my 2 children, and it was lovely, nice grounds, pleasant accommodations, loved the hot tub. I would go back.”
