• This was an awful hotel.

“This is a very poor quality hotel and was dirty, old, and is simply a hotel to avoid.”

• We were located very close to the indoor pool, which was very convenient.
• We could hear voices in the hallway in the middle of the night.

“Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn, Elmira. The rooms were well appointed and clean. The indoor swimming pool was a nice size and the room it was located in felt very large and open. The front desk staff was very helpful with directions to local eateries and shopping.”

• Very clean, friendly staff, comfortable and good location.
• There's a bar next to the lobby, made the registration very uncomfortable and I was verbally harassed when walking in and out.

“This is a great economical hotel which suited my needs for the night. Very clean, very friendly, no complaints. However, if you have a family and are checking in late, beware the bar crowd that will undoubtedly verbally accost you when walking into the lobby.”

• Nothing.
• Only had smoking room.

“When we arrived, was told only a smoking room was available. Told the staff, we had a toddler that had breathing problems and could not stay in a smoking room, and was told nothing could be done. We asked the manager if we could switch rooms if a non-smoking room became available, was told no.”

• Impeccable room cleanliness, maid crew deserves kudos.
• The occasional loud slammed door broke the otherwise peaceful quiet.

“Located in a very economically depressed city, this place deserves credit for even staying open. Not a lot of choices. I said here because my 40th HS reunion was co-located. I was prepared to be disappointed by the room and overall feel of the place, but was pleasantly surprised. The halls were clean and smelled OK. But the was room really clean, spacious, and attractive.”

• Clean, comfortable, attractive, well maintained, people friendly. Wished I could have stayed longer!
• Can't think of anything I did not like.

“My husband and were there to attend a concert at Tags Summer Stage and the location of the hotel was very convenient and easy to get to. We were so impressed with the accommodations and the cleanliness of the hotel that we wished we could have extended our stay! Thank you for providing us with such a quality place to stay at such an affordable price. I have to admit I was a little worried not knowing the area or any of the hotels but you did a fantastic job and I would go back to that hotel any time I was in that area.”

• It did not include a continental breakfast.

“Was an older hotel, but remodeled. It was better than we expect and very comfortable. Would stay again as it is near everything we visited? Wineries, shopping and historic places.”

• Bedding, location.

“This hotel is a microcosm of his mindset that smoking (lagging other chains) and cell phones are harmless. The fact that the room phone had not been activated and the subsequent 10 minutes it took to do so when brought to their attention reflects a mentality that most people have cell phones anyway. The FDA states clearly that they are not wall phone replacements. This experience confirmed that they will soon be eliminated from HI as we've already seen in Highway rest areas.”

• The first room I was assigned.

“The first night of my stay was unpleasant due to a draft in the door and a broken hair dryer. The next morning I spoke to the General Manager and she gave me a new room and gave me credit for the previous night!”

• Convenience.
• The room had trash still on the floor when I arrived.

“I stayed two days and the same trash was on the floor for both days. I was kept up until 3:00 a.m. with people in and out of their rooms. People in the hallway yelling and swearing, doors to rooms slamming. The key to my room did not work the second day.”

• Very professional staff.
• Heater did not work, cool air only.

“This hotel is convenient and clean. I did not dine in the restaurant but It appeared to be very nice. The staff was very courteous and If we had mentioned the heating problem I'm sure the staff would have responded, but It was late and not convenient for us to change rooms or wait for a fix the evening that we stayed.”

• Rate room was very clean.
• Limited exercise room no elevator.

“Hotel located in an isolated area in a downtown urban area. I prefer locations near interstates, malls or airports. The hotel was clean & neat but old and in need of a renovation.”

• I left early.
• The toilet over flowed.

“This room has one fold down double. We had to order a trundle. When we asked for it, we were told "I don't think one is available". Thank god it eventually showed up. The room had an outside door that was not sealed correctly. You could see the parking lot lights through the gap it the door and that made it even harder to sleep. The noise was bad, but the cold draft was worse. And did I mention the heat wasn't working? In the morning the toilet overflowed, and that is when we left. Got another room else where. I know riverside has better rooms, but they were full that night.”

• Provided meeting room at no extra cost.
• One vending machine didn't work properly.

“Six families including mine were staying in town to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. The hotel allowed me to check in early so that I could freshen up before her big party, after we had been in the car for 6 hours. Later that evening, we had so many leftovers from the luncheon we wanted to eat for dinner. The hotel allowed us to use a meeting room to get together with the six families again. The hotel exceeded my expectations and we were very grateful.”
