• Excellent location
• We were woken up one morning by loud hotel guests

“This is a lovely hotel. The decor is quaint and attractive. The hotel is clean and the beds were VERY comfortable! We could not have asked for a more convenient location. The staff was friendly and hospitable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.”

• High marks mainly on the location one block from Union Station and The Capitol.
• Tight spaces to be expected of an older hotel, but lack of pool hurts when traveling with kids.

“The extremely convenient location to the National Mall is the appeal here, in my view, particularly considering the Priceline rate. Rooms are clean, but just okay; to be expected of a historic hotel. I would recommend Phoenix Park more for business users and couples than for those with kids, 10 and under, since there is no pool. Proximity to National Mall and Metro Station is great, and pay no mind to reviewers who complained about safety; not a problem at all. For those taking Amtrak, I would also recommend Phoenix Park, and for those that drive to DC, I recommend parking at Union Station ($19 per day) rather than Phoenix' astronomical $40 (plus tip) valet fee. Parking in DC is expensive as it is, but $40 is overboard. Also, the only knock I'd give is that the doormen were quick to help us (and other people) with bags (i.e. tip time), but really didn't rush to otherwise open the front door as a courtesy.”

• Well located.
• High price to park a car $40.00 a day.

“Excellent location. On arrival the bedspread was wet. Had to call three times to get it replaced. At lunch in the dining room, service slow. They were not busy at the time a was there. Parking expensive, you can save
money if you find your own garage.”

• The giant plasma screen HD TV.
• The cramped elevators.

“The Phoenix Park Hotel was a wonderful experience. Everyone there was nice and friendly. My room was very cozy but made me feel very comfortable. The complimentary WiFi was a big plus in my book. Also the nice wall mounted HD TV that was also great. House keeping was very nice and very attentive. All and all a wonderful time.”

• Staff was very friendly, polite and efficient.
• I wish that the hotel had a pool. Also there was a lot of work going on outside the hotel at night.

“I found our room to be very comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The restaurant was a little overpriced but convenient if you didn't want to leave the hotel. Everything was centralized. Union station one block away and the Capital was two blocks away. Metro and Marc trains at Union Station. Easy to get around the city. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

• The rooms were nice and clean.
• Parking was an added charged at $30.00 per day and we were not told about it.

“This was a nice hotel and if you charge something to your room they add a service charge on top of it and the parking was $30.00 per day. This seemed quite sneaky!”

• The Decor of the hotel was fabulous.
• The staff at the restaurant was rude.

• The bed was amazingly comfortable, location was great & good breakfast.
• The air conditioner could have been more powerful, better sound proofing on the windows.

“We had a fabulous stay at the Phoenix Park Hotel. It could not have been more convenient, with quick access to the Metro and very close to the capital building and monuments. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in making suggestions and travel arrangements. I cannot say enough about how comfortable the beds in the room were, I didn't want to wake up! The restaurant/bar (The Dubliner) was perfect for breakfast and a late night drink. I would go back in a second!”

• Small rooms.

“The hotel had nice beds, HDTV, and free wireless but the room was a bit on the smaller side. Overall, a good experience for the money.”

• Awesome location between Union Stn & Capitol.
• Traffic noise in early morning.

“The Phoenix Park is great in an awesome location. Staff was very friendly, accommodations are nice, rooms are quaint, smallish, but also very nice. Dubliner Pub is very good.”

• The bed was very comfortable and the view was great.
• The small room and thin walls.

“Located very close to union station and the capitol, great for the tourist and business traveler alike. Room is comfortable and tastefully decorated to impart a homely feeling. Free wireless was an added bonus. Very convenient parking on the weekends but can be costly during the week.”

“The Phoenix Park Hotel is a quaint hotel in the heart of Downtown DC. Although it is an older hotel the rooms have been completely renovated and include flat panel TV's and internet. The staff and service is exceptional. I would highly recommend the hotel to business and personal travelers.”

• The hotel's location served our purposes excellently.
• The hotel wanted a separate fee for the internet service. Used my wireless AT&T connection.

“This hotel was an excellent match to the needs of my wife and I. The hotel's location allowed us to walk, as we prefer to do, to all the capitol sights and monuments. The food service provided by Dubliners restaurant (hotel associated) was timely and the food was excellent. Lastly, the bed was very comfortable, thus we were able to sleep well after walking many miles touring Washington DC.”

• It was within walking distance of so many things in dc.
• You were disturbed by the street noise at night and next door in the morning.

“This hotel was great for me because it was within walking distance of union station (one block). The room is very pretty. I shared a double bedded room with my sister and we were comfortable. Not all the rooms had as much room as we did. It was a bright and sunny room windows on 2 sides, but the street noise late at night actually woke us up. The pub connected to the hotel was friendly and fun. We did not eat at the hotel.”
