  • The staff were exceedingly kind and helpful.

“The hotel is close to downtown Washington and has an exceedingly helpful staff. The restaurant was quite good, and we enjoyed our stay.”

  • The bed was very comfortable and the food tasty.
  • Decor was old,
    TV didn't work and the
    room smelled like stale smoke.

“Front desk staff was friendly. Bed was very comfortable and lobby was decent. However, rooms were old and murky. Fine for business but not pleasure.”

  • Good location.
  • Very expensive food, nothing good nearby other than a McDonald's.

“Overall a nice place, very close to all the major attractions, the mall etc, but food is expensive. Two slices of toast, a bowl of fruit and some juice is priced at $12 per person! Generally, hotels like this include breakfast, but this one was an exception. Also, the housekeeping staff seem to be very casual and not care, my room was not made on two of the five nights I stayed, and I had to call the front desk to get fresh towels. Also, the heater was loud and noisy, had to get that fixed as well. Even though I had a nice time, I would be looking at a different hotel the next time I stay in DC.”

  • The lobby was clean.
  • Closet door broken, ceiling pain in the bathroom was peeling. The internet usually wasn't working and AC wasn't very cool.

“This was a decent hotel. The AC was blowing out cold air, paint wasn't peeling off the bathroom ceiling and the internet was working at all times. Also, the ice machine was located in the basement, which I felt was an inconvenience since most have an ice machine on each floor.”

  • The hotel, staff, and location made this visit very comfortable for me.
  • Nothing to complain about to be perfectly honest.

“The hotel's exterior needs some touching up, but everything else was perfect and if changes need to take place, I’m sure that it'll be considered a major competition for those so-called 5 star hotels in the DC area!

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[1] • Location:[1]

  • View of Capitol Rotunda but it was framed by ugly industrial buildings.
  • Front desk people's lack of willingness to help with problems of their creation.

“This hotel would be great if it was located near anything. As it is, McDonalds is the only nearby venue. Far from the subway, you have to rely on the hotel shuttle that will only drop you off but not pick you up again. When the shuttle broke down, we were stranded. The hotel sent a taxi to pick us up but refused to pay for it. They were totally "guest-hostile" at the front desk. This place is not recommended, at any price.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Very close to new Nationals Park and Metro.
  • A little bit beat up and the area is sketchy at night.

“If you want to see your favorite team play the Nationals this is the place to stay. I walked home with my son 2 nights in a row and felt protected by the large enclave of other Mets fans staying at the hotel even though the area is pretty bad.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[4]

  • Very clean, nice view of the capital, convenient shuttle service.
  • Not close to metro station - got lost twice attempting to return to hotel from metro in an unpleasant part of town.

“Good place to stay if you take a taxi when returning from the downtown area. Too far and confusing to walk from metro station as there was significant construction traffic and no signposts. Do not walk around neighborhood after dusk. Hotel itself was clean and supplied a very efficient shuttle to downtown.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[3] • Location:[7]

  • Location in relationship to the mall, the pool.
  • No fitness facilities when it said they had them, nothing to eat in the area.

“Our whole purpose was to see the mall and museums. The location is nice and felt pretty safe between the mall and the hotel. There was no fitness facilities or partnership with a gym like they said they had, and there was nothing to eat in the area except the attached diner (okay food, but overpriced) and McDonalds (no thank you). God bless delivery - the front desk has a ton of menus.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • The staff was very friendly. The children enjoyed the pool.
  • The restaurant was horrible. The service was extremely poor and the price too high (considering the service).

“If you just need a place to lay your head, it is OK. There are no bells and whistles here. You should never dine at Skyline. McDonalds across the street a much better choice (and I do not ever eat at McDonalds?!?).”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • I liked the spacious clean rooms and shuttle service.
  • I did not like the garage. It was dark and crowded.

“Very good hotel for the price. Rooms were clean and well maintained. It had a big outdoor pool. The shuttle service was very convenient and ran every half hour. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the capital, but the shuttle will drop you off right there. The only thing I would have liked would be to pick up the shuttle on their route to come back to the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Great front desk staff. Rooms were spacious, clean, and always ready when I returned.
  • The restaurant was understaffed and one of the two staff working made customers feel like they were imposing on her. :^(.

“If you're heading to the Nationals ballpark or the to the nation's capitol there is no better place to stay. This place in right between them both. Great place!”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[1]

  • The room was very nice, updated, and clean. We were very close to the new Nationals baseball stadium.
  • The single pane glass windows let in too much street noise.

“Don't use the hotel restaurant. It is very much under staffed. It took over an hour to get our breakfast order and there were only 3 tables of customers there! The neighborhood is not good. We were only five blocks south of the Capitol building, but had to walk under the freeway and railroad to get there. Not a safe area. The hotel provided free drop off service, but no pick up service from the major Downtown areas.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[3] • Location:[2]

  • Clean room, and mostly hospitable staff.
  • Location, difficult to access by public transit, panhandlers at night.

“Reminds me of 1960's political life, with blue walls and brass light fixtures. Daytime staff is helpful, evening staff is still in training. Found it easier to walk to the hotel, with limited public transportation access, however, the neighborhood can be dangerous, day or night.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • Location & friendliness of staff - helpfulness.
  • Would like a microwave in a common area or mini fridge in room.

“Overall very pleasant stay. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and in good condition. Comfortable linens/beds. Walkalbe to museums in Downtown - but one short area that was a little scary (about a block of the walk). Hotel diner was pricey, but two fast food restaurants across the street. Nice pool facility. Would like them to have a common area microwave or minifridge in the room. Bonus - was able to stay in the room and watch the fireworks over the monuments.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • The staff at the bar was very friendly and willing to talk about the city, answered all of my questions.
  • Directions from the hotel staff were sometimes unclear.

“When I got to the hotel the location was very close to everything that I needed. The area around the hotel has a lot of construction and will be revitalized soon. It will be an excellent place to stay for all types of trips. The one concern I heard from several people were about the pool operation hours. They expressed that it needed to be open later for the kids to enjoy more. The food was good, but a little pricy for the amount you received. The staff at the hotel bar was excellent. They were willing to talk about the city, places to shop, eat, what to avoid, what to expect and treated everyone very, very well. I would recommend people to stay here, based on the staff alone.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Room was nicely decorated.
  • One could tell they were trying to spruce up the place.

“Very nice pool shuttle service to sites was very helpful, hotel restaurant was ok, not much else in the area in walking distance except McDonalds.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[3]

  • Great views of Capitol. Cheap cab ride to monuments.
  • Questionable neighborhood. Cant walk at night.

“I really liked the hotel. Staff more than friendly and helpful. Shuttles did not run as often as indicated and only run one way. Couldn't walk to hotel at night due to neighborhood. We traveled with kids from 10 to 16 and would stay there again.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[6]

  • Proximity to Nationals Park.
  • Neighborhood in transition wouldn't walk around at night there.

“We booked the room to stay over following a Nationals night game, and for that purpose, the hotel was excellent, just a 4-block walk from the stadium. With all the police presence on So. Capitol St., no problem walking back to hotel at night, but I wouldn't walk around that neighborhood at night on a non-game day, and especially not west of So. Capitol St. The hotel itself was fine; the rooms were clean and comfortable. The heating units are old and noisy, and there was a party of people smoking funny cigarettes in a neighboring room that forced us to switch rooms, but the hotel staff was understanding and accommodating. The walk to Navy Yard metro stop takes about 10 minutes. The pool was empty so we did not use it.”

  • NA.

“Good location to ballpark. Neighborhood being "cleaned up", area mostly safe. Friendly staff. Clean comfy room. Underground garage parking for a fee, surprise. 15 minute walk to capitol. Breakfast not so good. Overall, I would stay here again.”
