• Excellent location to see the Capital Hill.
• $45 parking, when you can park across street for free. No microwave to warm food not from their restaurant.

“This is a great hotel. It would be an excellent hotel if it was not for the expensive parking, other than that great hotel. Taxis lined up in front of building. Comfortable beds.”

• Location to capitol.
• No eating places nearby.

“Restaurant was horrible; staff not trained properly; terribly overpriced; food marginal in quality. There was not a coffee maker in room. A continental breakfast for this business hotel would be nice. Could not find the gift shop, no signs to indicate; elevators slow.”

• Liked everything.

• Loved the bed, pillow and Aveda product as amenities.
• Under remodeling but bearable.

• This hotel was a total disaster. There is nothing to like.
• Everything was bad from check-in to no AC in room to needing to ask for the basics, ex towels and tissues, etc.

“This was a disaster from check-in. This was a 45 minute delay at 10 PM to get a room. Next we were sent to our room and when entering the room they gave us, it was not even made up, sheets and blankets on the floor, towels on the floor etc. After dragging our bags back to the desk we had to wait another 15 minutes for another room. When we finally got to that room the air conditioning did not work, but we were too tired to deal with it at that time. We spent a very uncomfortable night in a stuffy and hot room, which also lacked tissues or any writing materials. The next morning I phoned guest services and to ask them to repair the AC and that we would be out all day so they could get in there and not bother us. I was told it would be taken care of right away. When we returned 7 hours later nothing had been done so I phoned guest services again to complain and they then sent the engineers to fix it. So instead of using the shower or relaxing we had two engineers working on our AC for an hour. The room was also without towels so I had to phone guest services for towels which finally came while the engineers were working. The housekeeping was also shoddy, there were stains on table tops when we arrived that were not removed until the day before our third day there. This hotel is also under remodeling so there is no dinning facilities and the lobby is always crowded. The day we were leaving we checked our bags with the Doorman so we could visit the mall again before our flight left, but when we returned there was no doorman in sight. We waited 20 minutes and were worrying about our flight time, but the counter was packed and understaffed as usual. So I went in search of our bags in the direction the Doorman took them and found them in a room, which was unlocked.”

• The charge for parking was expensive.

• I liked that the hotel was on Capital Hill and you were within walking distance to a lot of attractions.
• The hotel was old and run down. It needed major improvements!

“We went for a family weekend trip. My husband and 2 daughters. The sheets were stained and the blankets smelled. We called the front desk for more blankets and towels and they brought us blankets that smelled like ashtrays and wash cloths. The only positive was we were within walking distance to Union Station and many other attractions. We did like that they had a garage to secure our car, however in addition to paying for the 30.00 a day to park. We will be going back to D.C. This year and we will be staying at the Hyatt across the street!”

• Location is very good, can walk to capital and mall.
• I am still waiting for an apology from the manager.

“Staff is rude and the bar and restaurant are a joke, I went across the street to the Hyatt for food and drink. Sewage leaked on my car in the garage and the hotel accused me of moving a cone to park in the space. When dealing with the situation, I was only allowed to speak to the Banquet Manager not the Hotel Manager or Assistant Manager. The one night I did go to the bar, the staff leaned against the wall and scowled at me, the bar is in the dining room and they wanted to set the bar tables for breakfast and I was in the way. When friends arrived, the bartender seemed to slam the drinks on the table when he served us. Stay away from this hotel. There are plenty more in the same area that actually likes to have guests.”

• Wonderful location and comfortable business environment.

“This hotel location is amazing. It's just near the union station so you can eat various kinds of food in food court and capital hill is on your nose. Internet access is free so if you are a business traveler, go and stay here!!”

• Nice, clean, good location.
• Thin walls.

“This is a good hotel as far as Holiday Inns go. Clean and decent rooms. Free internet! Great location 2 blocks from the capitol. 3 blocks from Union Station and the Metro. Walls are kind of thin and you can hear everything going on around you. Bar and restaurant are adequate. Room service is great. Elevators are the fastest I've ever seen - typical wait is 5 to 10 seconds! I will stay here again.”
