“Check in time was 3pm but we arrived at 9am and were able to check into the room. Staff was very helpful. Parking garage under hotel was clean & convenient. Location of this hotel was perfect for us, as we preferred to walk to museums & monuments. There was a Metro stop around the block also.”

“I would recommend this hotel for it's location. The hotel was within walking distance of all of the Mall attractions. We took the Metro from Ronald Reagan National Airport which was extremely convenient. It was $1.35 per person on the Metro versus $20.00 cab fare - and the Metro is 1/2 block away. The proximity to the Metro made getting to other areas very easy. We were able to get to other eating establishments quite easily on the Metro, since there isn't a whole lot to choose from near the hotel. We did find a great pub called My Brother's Place on 2nd street, just off the mall. Good food and reasonable prices.”

“This is the ideal place to stay with children (or without). We needed two rooms with our five children (ages 7 to 17) and were surprised at how roomy each room was. The beds were comfortable; the room was very clean. Room service and check-in and out were easy, quick and courteous. The rooftop pool was especially beautiful at night in the starlight and the children loved it! There were many families there. The younger children could eat meals for free in the restaurant which I worried would not be that good. However, the restaurants were actually quite good. We also had a refrigerator in our room which was helpful. Everything was within walking distance to all the historical sites which was perfect for us. It is a lot of walking anyway at the mall, so this was helpful. A hotel shuttle would have been more helpful, but for what we got, I can't complain. I would definitely stay here again. It's made me think again about all the Holiday Inns!”

“The odor lingered in the room. The access route to the parking garage was very narrow and it was difficult to pull out of a parking space because there was room only for 1 vehicle lane and vehicles were double parked.”

“The hotel was an average rating. Parking was high. Recommend garage parking across the street for half the price. Area attractions were a short 2 block walk. Hotel was kept clean and neat.”

“The hotel was in a great location, close to all the museums. The restaurant was quite nice, the food was good. I could not get a smoking room. Would not stay there again.”

“The double bed rooms are very small. We were only a few walking blocks away and this was nice. The pool is on the roof and can only be accessed by walking up steep stairs. It is small. And kids eat for free - but they harassed us about buying larger meals (parents) and gave poor service when we wanted something smaller. We did not appreciate this.”

“The hotel was very clean, staff was helpful and friendly. Dining choices were excellent, pool was nice. Bar and computer room facilities were great for business traveler and also for families to print boarding passes. No WiFi available in the rooms however, only a cable hookup. No microwave in the room.”

“The hotel was bare bones as far as staff goes. We had to wait 15 minutes to get the bellhop to bring in our bags. Check in was at 300pm and not a minute sooner, which was inconvenient. There was no valet, so you had to park your own car in a parking garage for $25 a day. The only positive things can say is that the food was good and moderately priced at both restaurants in the hotel, and the location was great if you wanted to walk to the sights, such as the Capitol and the museums.”

“This hotel was above average for a Holiday Inn. I was visiting the week the Pope was in town. The room, lobby and restaurant areas were all clean, although you can't expect to find the same level of interior as in a Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott. The bathroom had tile, not granite or marble, there were no glasses, only plastic cups, etc. However, it did exceed my expectations for a Holiday Inn. I stayed in the Hilton Embassy Row about a week and half earlier which is listed as 4 star hotel and there was a problem with the water, ongoing construction and inadequate air conditioning. I'd gladly stay in this 3 star Holiday Inn over the so-called 4-Star Hilton Embassy Row any day of the week.”

“The hotel did not look as luxurious from the outside and the lobby, so I was surprised that the rooms were so nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very family oriented hotel, so a lot of busy action.”

“One of the best hotel locations for access to the mall area of DC. The close subway access made other areas easy to get to. The hotel was well kept and clean. The staff was always helpful.”

“Overall the hotel was a great experience, me and my traveling buddy enjoyed everything down to the scent of the soap in the bathroom. The only problem I had with the hotel was the additional cost of the parking. I feel that being a hotel guest the parking should be included in my stay, or offered for a discounted rate then public parking.”

“The Holiday Inn Capitol - Washington DC in Washington, DC was a great place to stay for a getaway weekend with my wife. On short notice we were able to book a very clean and spacious comfortable room with a lobby very large and nicely decorated looking out into a courtyard. Though we did not eat at the hotel we did consider it and mostly will next time we stay there. Additional things we liked, very close to a main Metro hub, walking distance to museums, Starbucks next door, separate desk for travel help, and very pleasant staff.”

“For the price, this was a good hotel. The location is 1 1/2 blocks from the Air and Space Museum and comfortable walking distance to many other museums. You can also pick up a trolley to ride around to all the other sites of Washington from the Air and Space Museum, which was perfect.”
