“ The Marriott Courtyard is an older hotel but rooms are kept up well and seem regularly redecorated. Rooms also are somewhat larger than in many Courtyards. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. ”

“The only complaint I have is the parking situation. The hotel only offers valet parking, at $32 per day. The nearest parking garage was approximately three blocks away. It didn't open until 8 am, which delayed travel plans. Hotel needs to offer its own garage parking without the valet service, for those who prefer it.”

“The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and polite. There is restaurant on the lower level (10-15 dollars for breakfast), and the hotel is attached to Gordon Biersch brewery/restaurant where we enjoyed a nice lunch. There is an ATM on the lower level at the bottom of the stairs which was useful. Overall we were very pleased and would stay again.”

“All the staff were just so friendly and helpful. The location is supreme because you are in the heart of Washington, half a block from the Chinatown Metro and all the hop on/hop off tour buses - and walking distance to many attractions. My room was immaculate and even had an iron/ironing board in the closet (which I needed). There is free internet in the lobby (which I also needed - couldn't figure out how to make the free internet work in my room). The breakfast is not free, but delicious and not too expensive. Also there is a restaurant (Gordon something) immediately adjacent to the hotel and directly accessible from the lobby that has a good bar and variety of American food. But, overall I was most impressed by the staff. Would definitely recommend this place and would choose it as my preferred hotel when I go to Washington again.”

“Hotel was nice however, was not aware if I will need to pay extra on valet parking. I had to pay extra 32 dollars per day for parking on top of daily hotel payment.”

“The hotel is clean, comfortable, and at a convenient location close to the national mall. However, the staffs not have a good attitude toward customers, they made several mistakes regarding our reservation, including moving our room after the first day of our 3-day stay.”

“When I arrived I was surprised to discover not only how cramped the room was, but much more so at how old the amenities they provided were - the TV was at least 15 years old and I've seen better TV's in motels. The room was dimly lit and all the furniture and carpeting looked like they haven't been replaces in well over a decade. The shower wasn't very clean and the whole experience was rather grim and dim.”

“The hotel is a good quality for the money. It is well maintained and the staff is congenial. Its best feature is the location. It is centrally located for touring Wash. DC. There are good restaurants, stores and bars nearby.”

“Lovely lobby, great location. Avoid rooms facing F street on Thurs/Fri/Sat night as noise from the nightclub across the street will keep you awake until 2:00 am. Staff was not helpful regarding this problem.”

“During my daughter's spring break, we visited Boston, NY and DC. We stayed in three Marriott hotel, and this is the best. The room is very spacious, much bigger than I expected as the Courtyard we stayed in Boston is very small. The bed is also very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a really good time. I highly recommend this hotel.”

“This hotel needs some floor work, and a total overhaul of the tiny dressing area in the bathroom. The carpeting was good, but I could feel the floor sink in spots in the room I was in.”

“The Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center is very conveniently located in the Pennsylvania Quarter neighborhood - across from the Spy Museum and the Portrait Gallery/American Art Museum, and an easy walk to the Penn Quarter restaurants and Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro. The room was clean though a bit small. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Elevators required the room key to get upstairs - this is good for security. A breakfast buffet was available (for a cost), though I didn't try it.”

“Pros: Great location. Nice rooms.
Good price.
Cons: There was no hot water in the entire hotel for a 24 hour period. Plug-in internet only. No continental breakfast.”

“This hotel is clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Plus, it's close to all major tourist attractions and the Metro Station. The in-room dining food was delicious and the service was fast! The only draw back is overnight parking is expensive - but I guess it's typical since there really isn't anywhere to park in DC.”

“Staff was friendly and helpful. Accommodations were great! The grandmother was comfortable and the grandkids (ages 9 and 11) loved the pool and the snacks behind the counter in the lobby and making tea for grand mom in the lobby!”
