  • The afternoon front desk people were awesome!
  • The television channel selection was limited.

“This is a modern and clean facility. The staff is exceptional and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is memorable. The room was large and comfortable with decent air conditioning. The bathroom was large, but the wash basin was almost too small for the room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who might visit Washington D.C.”

  • Very modern.
  • Hearing all the traffic all night!

“I like the Kempton Chain, however I prefer the Hotel Helix better than this hotel. The hotel was on a main street so if your room was in the front of the building u could hear the traffic and it was very loud! I had a hard time sleeping & I was on the 6th floor.”

  • The hotel does not have restaurant. It has a bar that doubles in the mornings as a restaurant.

  • The staff from front desk, bar, valet and all was exceptional and friendly.
  • I was not aware of the $30 per day to park a car.

“The hotel is centrally located with everything within 30 minutes. I do not like those circles in DC. The staff was very nice and friendly and helped with anything we requested most graciously.”

  • Less than helfpul staff.

“I arrived late on a Friday evening with three large business bags. I arranged for the car valet but proceeded to move my way through the lobby to five bellhop-like staff members watching as I stumbled through to the front desk to check-in. After that was done, I continued onward to the elevator where the same staff members watched. Could one have them offered to lend a hand? I'm a damn good tipper.”

  • Comfort of the room, amenities like bathrobes, slippers, safe, umbrella, free internet, free evening reception wine bar, stereo.
  • No in-room coffee service.

“This is a striking and attractive hotel in a good neighborhood and a few blocks from the Metro. The rooms are superbly comfortable and elegant. The lobby is cramped but the service is friendly. The restaurant seating is uncomfortable although the place is attractive. I would stay there again, gladly.”

  • No Coffee maker in room (minor).

“The Rouge (red) theme is very pleasant and cute. It had a very trendy (if slightly noisy) restaurant. Overall very nice- would stay there again.”

  • Big room, stylish.
  • Front desk staff not very competent - forgot things, final bill was wrong.

“The Kimpton hotels are "cool" what with the wine happy hour, cool decor, and free wireless internet, and the rooms are generally nice. On this stay however the front desk staff forgot to send items requested, and delayed me on departure because they could not figure out how to add up the bill properly. The coffee was not up to par.”

“I arrived to find my room on the second floor with windows that opened fully and easy for any thief to get to. There was a fake wall to separate my room from another. Yes a curtain was used to separate the two rooms.”

  • The locations was great,.
  • No heat.

“The location was great, but I had a few problems. The heater did not work in my room, which I didnt notice until early morning, which was very uncomfortable. I brewed some coffee, and I noticed the coffee cup was dirty. I called front desk and asked for another one, and waited about 20 minutes. I called down and cancelled it because my coffee was getting stale. However they did allow me a late checkout, which was nice I suppose.”
