Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[7]

  • The room was very attractive and the beds were comfortable.
  • The room had an odd smell - varnish or some other cleaner. Bad view.

“I would recommend this hotel to others. The room was attractive and clean. The staff was friendly. There seemed to be other hotels located closer to the attractions but if you don't mind short walks, then this hotel is almost perfect.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Location was close to the White House. Lots of stores and shops close.
  • Remodeling, Loud. Hotel Transportation Very Expensive!

“Good location. Current materials about the hotel did not mention remodeling which was loud and intrusive. Staff was friendly and helpful but hotel transportation was Very Expensive! A cab from the airport would have cost less than half of the money and the car was a standard Catallic.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Staff very friendly, liked then colonial atmosphere.
  • Exterior construction made locating difficult.

“Excellent-out of all our visits to Washington, D.C. we enjoyed this location most of all. We have stayed at the Hyatt, Hilton and Marriot.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Extra-comfy bed.
  • TV was so-so.

“Considering we got a GREAT deal on this hotel, I was very pleased. I would have been not as ecstatic if we had to pay the $250 regular price, but that's downtown DC for you. The room was big enough, the bathroom was enormous, and the bed was spectacular. Our TV occasionally turned itself off, but that was the only problem. The hotel looks older, but part of that is they have actual antiques including furniture. No IKEA here!”

“This is everything you'd expect and more beautiful, great location, very luxurious but also family friendly.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • A small, old-fashioned great-service hotel; excellent kitchen.
  • No business center.

“The Jefferson is a small gem of a hotel in the heart of DC, as solid as its stone facade and will be appreciated by those accustomed to receiving high-end service from a hotel staff.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[5]

  • Staff.
  • Carpet in the room & bathroom needed repair.

“Hotel location was borderline to far to walk to historical sites. There were no alternatives to expensive room service, vending etc. There were no restaurants or convenient stores close by. Staff was great, tried hard to please. Rooms were clean, beds were great but carpet & bathroom left a lot to be desired.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Very friendly staff.
  • Pool isn't on-site and costs $20.00 to use.

“Great historical hotel conveniently located. Staff is their most valuable asset, but the use of the pool, whirlpool, sauna, are available across the street, for a $20.00 fee. Listed as a four star hotel, with heat like weather, this should have been free. This was the only downside to this hotel. Otherwise, the beddings are luxurious as well as the furnishings!”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[9] • Location:[7]

  • Great staff from front desk to the bartender. Very friendly and professional.
  • Shower tile grout needed better cleaning, carpet needed replacing.

“ But I would have been very disappointed had I been paying anything close to rack rate. On the plus side, the staff were great, the beds were clean and comfortable and the location was OK. On the minus side - even thought it is an older hotel with antiques in all rooms - I don't think the carpet should be antique. It definitely showed wear and some minor staining. Also, the bathroom was small, the shower tile grout showed some traces of mildew and the bathroom door handle needed repair. For these reasons, I would rate it on the very edge (on the low side of course) of being a 4-star. However, if you like smaller, quieter, boutique type hotels with antique furniture, etc. then this hotel may be just for you.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Hotel lobby, room, bathroom were clean . The bed sheets were spotless and didn't have to think twice before lying down. The hotel staff were friendly.
  • Bathroom door knob was broken in one room while the other bathroom lock jammed.

“Upscale hotel. Excellent stay. Will like to come back.”
