  • The bedding and pillows.
  • There was a sweaty smell in the room, small pool.

“Friendly staff and excellent bedding and pillows. There was a sweaty smell in the room.”

  • High quality hotel and staff. One of the best experiences that I have ever had in a hotel.
  • Very high price for parking, but it was consistent with the area and very prompt.

“I have never written a review this glowing about a hotel. Although there was no concierge, the staff was really knowledgeable and on the money with excellent advice. The free quality coffee in the lobby and the can do attitude of everyone is the real reason this hotel stands out. The hotel was very clean and trouble free, but the staff was wonderful. They said hello, they were really nice people.”

  • Location. Snacks at the front desk. Clean rooms.
  • The swimming pool was very small.

“The hotel was great. We were travelling with 3 small children. The room was pretty much standard for a Courtyard Marriot, which in my opinion is good. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Great place to stay in DC.”

  • Quiet hotel, nice room, friendly staff, and great location.

“This is a hotel one would like to use again after the first time. Even the valet parking was not so dificult as in other hotels, and not very expensive for Washington DC.”

  • The room was large and comfortable. Plenty of bathroom space and closet space. Restaurant food and well stocked snack bar were great.
  • Was not told about valet parking fee with hotel in neighborhood with limited parking. Room was on back alley and listen to deliveries and garbage trucks.

“Room was comfortable with plenty of room to work and relaxe. Restaurant served good food, both dinner and breakfast. Snack bar was well stocked. The hotel is in a neighborhood with limited parking so the valet fee should be reconsidered. Our room overlooked a delivery alley so after 4:00am between the garbage trucks and deliveries you couldn't sleep.”

  • It was in a nice area.
  • Ridiculously expensive food and valet parking.

“The price of the room was pretty good. The worst part about it was there was no on street parking at all, so you were forced to pay the $30 valet fee. Also, the in-hotel restaurant was very expensive as well. $25 for a hamburger? I will most likely never go there again.”

  • The contemporary style of the room; fresh baked cookies in the evening and the inviting and helpful manner of the front desk staff.
  • Having to pay $26 per day to park my car in the hotel parking garage.

“Overall, having a hotel with modern conveniences and great location in Washington DC made our vacation much more enjoyable.”

  • Good location. Free weights in gym.
  • No breakfast/refrigerator/microwave, outrageous prices for sundries. Need pull-up bar in gym and space for stretching/push-ups/crunches/etc.

“Hotel was ok for business travel; clean, polite staff, etc. Room was small, no refrigerator or microwave in room and ridiculous prices for snacks and sundries meant having to go out for every meal and nowhere to keep items bought outside such as soft drinks or fresh fruit and juice. A free continental breakfast bar would have meant a lot and helped save some cash in a DC economy. Parking was $28 per day with no other alternatives and no street parking. Gym was surprising nice, though pool was a bit small for laps. Pleasantly surprised by presence of free weights (dumb bells) in gym. A pull-up bar and a matted area to stretch and do push-ups/crunches/yoga/etc. Would make it a lot more functional and make it a truly exceptional find among hotel gyms. Hotel restaurant was pricy for business travel without expense account. Would not appose returning.”

  • Convenient.
  • Parking fees and no other choice.

“I will never go to this hotel again but I will go to another Marriott in any other state. For the price this hotel doesn't qualify and the staff treat you with prejudicial behavior. If you look rich then you get A1 treatment if not you are ignored!”

  • They let us check in several hours early!
  • It was several blocks from the closest Metro and was apparently very close to a fire department that traveled with sirens blaring at all hours.

“Courtyard Embassy Row is situated among the embassies along Massachusetts Avenue. It is several blocks south of Dupont Circle (and the closest Metro) but walking in the area is safe and pleasant. Very close to St. Matthew's Cathedral. Not so close to somewhere convenient for a quick breakfast. We stopped in several hours early to drop off luggage and were incredibly pleased when they let us check in then. Kudos! Friendly staff all around. The room was clean and comfortable. We faced the front so noise from emergency vehicles was an issue. Fancy coffee machine in lobby offered several coffee options but was time consuming, especially if you just wanted hot water for tea and were stuck behind three people who wanted mocha latte whipped etc. etc. However, the basket of fresh apples at the front desk was a welcome treat in the morning. And you have to love that all Marriott properties are completely smoke free.”

  • It was clearly recently renovated. All the furniture was quite nice and tasteful.
  • It was way further from the Metro than I thought. It was rather a long walk.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and styling of the room furnishings. All the staff was very helpful and when the computers were busy when I wanted to print my boarding pass, he let me use one in the back room. They had free coffee/tea 24/7 and in the afternoon, coming back hot and tired, they had lemonade (from a mix) and ice tea for the hotel guests. That was a very nice touch. It is rather a walk from the metro, but all in all it was a very nice hotel experience and I travel a lot.”

  • Great location and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.
  • The parking is expensive, but that's normal in Washington D.C.

“My family and I stayed at the Courtyard By Marriott Embassy Row during July. The hotel is located a few blocks north of the White House and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. We really enjoyed taking long walks. Cabs and mass transit are readily available for people who like to get places as fast as you can in Washington D.C. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The exercise area and pool were a nice way to end a day of exploring the city.”

  • Cleanliness and modern facility.
  • No continental breakfast.

“Hotel was great! Location, staff, cleanliness and current/updated decor. I would like to see the hotel offer free continental breakfast. The restaurant was extremely pricey. Two cheeseburgers with fries, two drinks, one bowl of soup and two cups of coffee cost $50. Good food, but definitely not work $50.”

  • It was great and very clean & respectful.
  • They did have a little problem with the rats outside the door at nights.

“This hotel is the best. They always put me in a safe and secure hotel and this was #1. Keep up the good work! See you soon.”

  • The location was perfect and room was clean.
  • The elevator was not working the day of departure.

“I enjoyed the hotel and the staff was friendly. I was only there one day and my only problem was that the elevator was not working on Sunday and we had to carry our luggage and use the stairs. The hotel was immaculate and that is very important to me.”

  • It was comfortable and kept very clean.
  • The unexpected parking fee per night ($25).

“This hotel was very well maintained and didn't have any problems. Except, to repeat, that the $25 per night parking fee was ridiculous and totally unexpected!”
