  • Great historic hotel close to all Washington D.C attractions by foot.

“It is rated as 4 star, but really it has 5 stars. Beautiful historic one with spacious rooms, ballrooms and a great lobby. few steps to the White House and Mall.”

  • Close to the Metro.

“Great location. Near the center of everything. Metro station is less than 1/2 block away. Friendly staff.”

  • The location of this hotel was outstanding. The entry/lobby was beautiful.
  • The bathroom in room needs repair..

“The Mayflower is a beautiful hotel in a great location. It was very convenient for travel with a family group. Just steps to the Metro, or an easy walk to anywhere when the weather is nice. The rooms were very comfortable for an extended stay. There were plenty of good restaurateurs at every price range within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Mayflower to others.”

  • Room was very clean and bed was fantastic.

“Had a wonderful experience at this hotel for a 1-night get-away with my husband. Everything was very clean, very nice. Seemed to be newly-renovated, but I don't know if it had been or not.”

  • Location.
  • Room, staff, expensive restaurant.

“The room was small, which would have been okay, but it was extremely dark to the point we could not find the thermostat and once we did it could not be seen without a flashlight. The front desk clerk when we checked in was rude and short with us. The rest of the staff was very nice, however. We ate in the restaurant, which was okay, but very overpriced.”

  • Elegant, helpful staff, clean, nice size rooms and upgrades are worth the price.
  • The only thing I can recommend is to have the tv's in the rooms at eye level.

“We truly enjoyed our stay, it was elegant with a nice inviting and traditional feel, very clean and comfortable surroundings, we would stay there again.”

  • Location
  • Room, noise, facilities.

“No coffee making ingredients in room. Old CRT TV with few channels. Lots of noise form other guests during the night. No free internet.”

  • Location is very good. Right in the heart of the downtown. Safe neighborhood & 0.5 mile from White House. Close to restaurants and public transport.
  • Staff is impolite and not helpful. No good amenities like dining or pool, expensive parking. Room was full of dust and items were dirty, and there were less towels.

“Mayflower hotel has one plus point that is the location. Apart from that there is nothing much at all to praise about. Rooms are small and dirty. No facilities or amenities. It was written that there is internet in the room but when we checked in we were told that its not free ($13/day), no toiletries which is a basic thing, very few towels, lipstick marks on glasses, tables were full of thick dust. Receptionists were rude. No pool and dining in the hotel. Last word, location is the only thing that worked in its favor in no respect it could be called a 4 star hotel. I would give 2.5 at max. We are thankful to Priceline for the good price we got. Priceline saved us from a lot of hassle searching hotel. Thanks!”

  • Location, on the Metro red line. Very comfortable room.

“Great old hotel that has kept up with the times to give the business traveler everything he or she expects from a high quality property.”

  • Everything.

“This lavish 4* hotel has been used for eight inaugural balls. The staff are very professional, friendly and very helpful. After a small hiccup with our room we received a gift of wine, cheese and crackers.”

  • Location is perfect for both business and pleasure, helpful and knowledgeable staff makes the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
  • Furniture is a bit out-dated, but rooms are nice.

“Classic old style luxury hotel in a perfect location between Washington's historic and national monuments and the trendy Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle. The Mayflower offers a perfect atmosphere both for the business traveler with the decedent conference halls and the leisure traveler.”

  • The decor.

  • Very upscale and historically ornate.
  • Television too small, need to upgrade to flat screens.

“The Renaissance Mayflower is in a great location for tourists of Wash DC. It is traditionally ornate and the rooms were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this 4-star hotel especially for the deal I got on Priceline.com.”

  • The clerk at the front desk upgraded our room.
  • The furniture and floors were very dirty.

“Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed after a long day of traveling and wanted to sit down in a chair. The chair was not acceptable not even for outdoors. The view was looking at the air conditioner units on the roof. And this place was a little pricey for what you got!”

  • Let us check-in at 7 a.m.
  • Room was not cleaned 1 day we were there.

“Really happy that they let us check in at 7 am. after a red-eye, without charge! Room was not cleaned 1 day. Cleaning lady said Do Not Disturb Sign was up. It was night. They offered to clean when I called, but by then we just wanted some peace after a long day of sightseeing.”

  • Beautiful historic hotel well maintained
  • Nothing not to like

“Beautiful old hotel with extra large rooms and a bathroom half the size of most European hotel rooms. Beds were very comfortable, nice large sitting area well appointed. The hotel was very well kept and in a great location, making it very conveniant to all attractions.”
