“It is rated as 4 star, but really it has 5 stars. Beautiful historic one with spacious rooms, ballrooms and a great lobby. few steps to the White House and Mall.”

“The Mayflower is a beautiful hotel in a great location. It was very convenient for travel with a family group. Just steps to the Metro, or an easy walk to anywhere when the weather is nice. The rooms were very comfortable for an extended stay. There were plenty of good restaurateurs at every price range within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Mayflower to others.”

“Had a wonderful experience at this hotel for a 1-night get-away with my husband. Everything was very clean, very nice. Seemed to be newly-renovated, but I don't know if it had been or not.”

“The room was small, which would have been okay, but it was extremely dark to the point we could not find the thermostat and once we did it could not be seen without a flashlight. The front desk clerk when we checked in was rude and short with us. The rest of the staff was very nice, however. We ate in the restaurant, which was okay, but very overpriced.”

“No coffee making ingredients in room. Old CRT TV with few channels. Lots of noise form other guests during the night. No free internet.”

“Mayflower hotel has one plus point that is the location. Apart from that there is nothing much at all to praise about. Rooms are small and dirty. No facilities or amenities. It was written that there is internet in the room but when we checked in we were told that its not free ($13/day), no toiletries which is a basic thing, very few towels, lipstick marks on glasses, tables were full of thick dust. Receptionists were rude. No pool and dining in the hotel. Last word, location is the only thing that worked in its favor in no respect it could be called a 4 star hotel. I would give 2.5 at max. We are thankful to Priceline for the good price we got. Priceline saved us from a lot of hassle searching hotel. Thanks!”

“This lavish 4* hotel has been used for eight inaugural balls. The staff are very professional, friendly and very helpful. After a small hiccup with our room we received a gift of wine, cheese and crackers.”

“Classic old style luxury hotel in a perfect location between Washington's historic and national monuments and the trendy Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle. The Mayflower offers a perfect atmosphere both for the business traveler with the decedent conference halls and the leisure traveler.”

“Beautiful old hotel with extra large rooms and a bathroom half the size of most European hotel rooms. Beds were very comfortable, nice large sitting area well appointed. The hotel was very well kept and in a great location, making it very conveniant to all attractions.”

“Our initial room was dirty and we had to be changed to a different room. The manager promised us breakfast on the house the next morning and we were charged for it. When I called to inquire about the charge we were told that we could order breakfast on the house the next morning. The food was wonderful, the portions were nice sized. The other guests were noisy late at night with children wandering the hall. Other than that the stay was nice. The rooms were very comfortable. I would have thought the internet would be included at no price to the guests but it wasn't. Even cheaper hotels offer free internet.”
