• Location.
• Wireless internet should not be an extra fee.

“Comfortable and convenient to most major landmarks in DC. Room was well appointed and staff was helpful. I was traveling for business, but will definitely be back with my family.”

• The location was nice, rooms were good size.
• You had to pay for WiFi even in the lobby.

“The staff was very nice, retrieved our umbrella that was left in the room after we checked out, and left it at the front desk for us. The price was right for what you get. I prefer a hotel with more restaurants close by, but we brought our own food, we were there for 2 days.”

• Bed was decent, and they allowed pets.
• Extra charges for second guest.

“This just isn't a very nice hotel. With that, the room was comfortable and acceptable, just not nice. Furthermore, I was charged an extra for having 2 adults instead of one. I think that is a joke and makes me believe that this hotel is a little deceptive. Spend extra $ on a nicer hotel that is more conveniently located.”

• The hotel lobby and room were clean and presentable, the elevators were very fast.
• Valet parking at $40/day seems higher than the rest of the local hotels.

“First impression of the hotel was that it was old and dirty because the carport entrance needs to be power washed. The hotel was definitely old but has been maintained very well. You still see the age in the details and the odor of the carpets and walls. When we first walked into the (spacious and clean) room, the AC vents were pumping out air with the faint smell of food - not sure why. Concierge did not seem to excited to help. Valet parking was expensive for the area at $40, it seemed most hotels I reviewed were at $30/day and I forgot to check this one. I was hoping to stay at a true 4 star hotel and - for the price - should have stuck to the tried and true Hampton Inns. I would have received a better bed and a breakfast for the same price.”

• Great location, clean, comfortable, excellent for business travelers and for sightseeing.
• No refrigerator in the room, poor menu selection after hours.

• Location was excellent and the room was very comfortable.
• The room size & location. 12.95 for WiFi!

“The hotel (Hilton) was excellent. However, desk staff was a bit cold - my room was by the staff elevator and very small, so the hall was a little loud. But it was still very nice!”

• The location is great. Within walking distance to many sites.
• Outdated decor and $40/day valet only parking.

“The location of the hotel is great. Two blocks from the White House and within walking distance of many of the sites and restaurants, and is close to public transportation. The decor needs updating, but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant, but not exceptional. Parking is an outrageous $40/day. We would stay here again for the location.”

• Very noisy, lots of traffic around area.

“Hotel was nice, traffic was very loud in the mornings. Parking was $40.00 each night. Room service was very good. I would stay there again if I wanted to stay in Downtown.”

• The location and ambience exceeded our expectations.
• The room itself could use a bit of updating.

“My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Capitol Hilton. While we did not spend much time in the hotel itself we were pleased with its location and the staff. We definitely looked forward to returning to the Capitol Hilton at the end of our day.”

• The convenience of the location and friendliness of all the staff.
• The pounding outside the window from maybe the air conditioner.

“I thought the hotel was spectacular. The location was wonderful. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and had plenty of space. The lobby area was decorated nicely. The spa and gymnasium was convenient and wonderful.”

• The location was close to all the sights we wanted to see and close to the Metro lines.
• Nothing to say.

• Concierge was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Bell captain was amazingly courteous, helpful and friendly.
• Parking is $40/day. If they'd cut that in 1/2 I'd give them 10's across the board.

“Location was spectacular. My husband, kids and I walked to all the monuments and museums easily from this hotel. It was clean and beautiful. The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is the $40/day parking. If they'd cut this in 1/2, I'd always return to this hotel.”

• The staff and the elevator was out of service.

“I went into the bar on my first evening at the hotel. Sat down near a table that the waitress was clearing. She never acknowledged me. I sat there for almost 10 minutes, then I went and stood next to the bar since there were no open seats. The bartender told me I could not ordered from that area, as it was for the waitress. The waitress was standing right there at the register and again she never acknowledged me. I then went and sat at the table for another five minutes, she never came to take my order, so I left.”

• Only thing that we liked is the location. But disappointed the way that they did not have the room that we requested.
• Disappointed. Did not have the room ready.

“When we arrived, there was only a room with a single queen bed where we requested for a two bed room. The only room was a smoking room where we requested non smoking (we have children and we do not smoke). They promised that a double bed room will be given the next day as many people are checking out and told us to pack the things ready in the room so that they can move it the next day. When we came back after a long day tired and exhausted, nothing happened.”

• Room needs renovation, have to pay for internet (even to print boarding pass) and gym.

“Hotel is very boring, anonymous. Rooms need renovation, especially bathrooms and furniture. Hotel is in an awesome location and was clean. A lot of noise from the hallway could be heard in the room. The TV barely worked and was very old.”
