“It's under construction/renovation (extreme). The garage area was dangerous. I had to change rooms for non-working TV & A/C. The outlook for post-renovation isn't good. The newly renovated rooms are at best 1/2 stars. The bathrooms are cramped so much that whether the door is open or closed determines whether you can use the toilet or tub.”

“The parking garage was mostly filled with construction materials and equipment. The elevators didn't work half the time and would sometimes even get stuck. In all fairness, the room was very nice, comfortable and clean although the lighting in the bathroom area left something to be desired.”

“This hotel was having a complete make-over. It was dirty (because of the work in progress) and elevators did not always work. It certainly was not conducive to a good stay/dining experience. I felt sorry for the staff who was doing their best to cope. I am also aware some guests left early because of the poor conditions. I am sure once the work is finished it will be a nice hotel.”

“Nice hotel in a great location. Great staff. Friendly and very accommodating. The current construction activities were sort of messy, but this was still much better than most Holiday Inns. It was so bad I left after the 2nd night of a 5 day stay.”

“It was under construction, but the staff made it very bearable for us. Room was clean and quiet. Beware the elevator doors--they shut before you can enter or exit!”

“Although a great price in a great location, the hotel is undergoing a complete over haul. Common spaces are closed, access to the parking garage limited.”

“Overall, really nice for price. I was taken a back when I found out parking in the hotel lot costs $15 per day. But there was ample parking on the street. Right across from a Giant grocery store, too. Very convenient. Too few cable channels, but we didnt' have time for much TV watching anyway.”

“It's a fine hotel, not so close to a Metro station, but they have a shuttle. They only had smoking rooms available when I checked in, but the staff they to clean the smell for us. They also offer to change rooms nest night. I didn't use the dining facilities in the Hotel. It's a nice walk to Old town Alexandria, where you have several choices.”

“Not sure is three stars was appropriate for the sparsely decorated rooms, however, if our kids would have been with us, the size of the rooms would have been a definite plus. Not a super looking place, but a very good value for near Old Town Alexandria, and shuttle bus was accommodating and very friendly driver made ride enjoyable.”

“I would recommend it to anyone. Would stay there again. Convenient having a store right across the street and about a mile from small shops. Shuttle to metro.”

“The beds are nice, but the public spaces are run down. Apparently there will be remodeling in the next year. The worst thing was the shuttle down to King Street left five minutes before we were told to show up.”

“I would stay here again. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. Good location as far as walking to restaurants etc. Short drive to the Metro for turning D.C. I would stay here again.”

“This hotel was nice and clean. The hotel and room was a bit outdated, and I believe soon to be renovated. The hotel offered a shuttle to the airport (about 10 minutes drive) and there we picked up the Metro to DC. Very convenient. Also, about a 9 block walk to King Street, where we found great shopping, dining, and a movie.”

“From desk employees very helpful. Hotel looks dated and I was disappointed to see that it was kind of far from the old town area , it has a shuttle but I arrived at 8 p.m. and the last shuttle was until 10 p.m., so I couldn't really use that. I was very disappointed to see that it was under construction, my view was the construction and a supermarket. I had to pay 15.00 for 1 night of parking. The restaurant was good .”

“Great location to destination, nice hometown feels with great restaurants and shops in the immediate area. Friendly staff, however, hotel should not be rated as a 3 star upscale hotel. Room was very outdated, not attractive and did not have simple amentias including having a business center with internet access. Food in hotel restaurant was not good.”

“Pro: Nice location. Cons: Front desk staff checked us into a room that was already occupied, 5:30 a.m. wake up call that we did not ask for, missing light bulbs and poorly lit and poorly designated parking area.”
