“This was a basic, old-fashioned hotel with a large room (plenty of space for floor exercises to keep in shape!). A quiet location that was easy to get to and convenient to other old Town sites or for hopping on to the Interstate. Free parking was a plus, and the hotel staff was polite and helpful. Nothing fancy here, but solid and comfortable. I wish there were more places like this!”

“For the price, I have stayed in much nicer hotels. Poor A/C, ratty carpets, cracked bathroom tiles, bad paint job on the ceiling, light fixture missing, and buttons missing on the television. They advertised "all amenities you would expect." Their website even mentions refrigerator, which must have been a mistake because there was none. The staff barely speaks English. The only nice thing about it is that it is in a fairly good location. In general, I expected much more.”

“The staff's personal attention and care for guests made up for the humdrum facilities and were most important to this stranger in town.”

“It was six blocks away from the metro by way of crossing a dangerous neighborhood. I had to take the bus to the metro stop.”

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. You had to heave your shoulder against the room door to open it. I don't mind old hotels but this one was disgusting. The bathroom was last updated in 1967. The coffee pot still had the grinds from the previous guest. The bathroom sink was clogged. There was nothing to hold the bathroom tissue so it was just stacked on the toilet tank. There was mold all around the tub where the tile grout had fallen out. The walls were cracked and stained from water leakage and bad repairs. You couldn't touch the windows without getting black soot on your hands. Two of the windows were cracked. Then to complete the experience at 7:00 AM a garbage compactor truck pulled up right outside the window and loaded trash for 20 minutes. ”

“The hotel is an older one, but still very comfortable with large rooms and all the usual amenities. Very convenient to the metro, Reagan National airport and many parks and restaurants.”

“I did not expect the greatest hotel in the world and my expectations were met. Burns and stains on the carpet, hard beds, and showers that went from scalding hot to freezing cold in seconds. Not a great hotel, but for the price it served its purpose.”

“The Travelodge was par for the type of lodging advertised. It was a perfect "stopover" hotel that allowed my wife and I to crash to sleep in a clean, affordable, and adequate room on our way to our vacation destination.”

“The rooms are not well kept, not user friendly, bulbs out in bathroom, no electrical outlets in bathroom for shavers or hairdryers. Old soap left in bathtubs.”

“This hotel is convenient to the Downtown DC area and I would recommend it for one who wants to save money. The facilities were habitable and reasonably comfortable--but it is no luxury stay. If you do not plan to spend very much time in your hotel and just need a place to sleep and shower, I would recommend this hotel. There is a star bucks nearby with wireless, so bring your laptop-there is no computer access at the hotel. The best thing going for this hotel is that it is located on one of the main roads in Alexandria not far from shopping, dining and historic landmarks.”

“For a short stay this hotel may be all right but may be a bit overpriced based on cleanliness. Walk to or from Metro at night may not be safe for singles or families.”

“Advertised as "within walking distance of Metro." I would estimate the distance to be 1-1/2 to 2 miles. If a person gets off the Metro with a suitcase, they will have to pull it over uneven brick sidewalks through Historic Alexandria. A beautiful walk, but not easy. Healthy people will love the walk and area.”
