• I was completely appalled at the lack of quality of this hotel.
• It was dirty and smelly and in a neighborhood I found uncomfortable.

“The hotel smelled badly. The room I was showed had a mattress with large urine stain on it. My sister and I could not stay there.”

• Inside of hotel exceeded expectations. Definitely been renovated.
• Bad location. Outside appearances are bad.

“Hotel inside was nice, nice bar/restaurant. Lobby staff was not so friendly but the restaurant/bar staff was. Breakfast bar was okay.”

• The bartender was polite and the restaurant was clean.
• The rooms were filthy. The hotel was in one of the worst parts of town.

“Small swimming pool with no lifeguard. The rooms are dirty and in need of cosmetic repair. May be alright for a business trip but would not recommend for vacations.”

• It had onsite security.
• It was in the ghetto.

“The continental b'fast was terrible (cereal with no milk). It was like the all the sudden decided to serve b'fast and forgot to get the rest of the groceries. The entire building was stifling hot and muggy from the front door to the elevator to the room. Pool water was green/brown. Historic new Bern? More like prehistoric new Bern. Went for business trip. My recommendation: come in late, go straight to sleep, leave early.”

• Holes in sheets, no toilet paper, pool not in working order, room smelled, breakfast awful.

“You folks need to have higher standards for you participating hotels. A deal is not a good deal if you are stuck in a Nasty, stinky place, where the pool isn't working, there's no toilet paper, there is no toaster available for the week-old bagels, and the sheets are riddled with holes!”

• The continental breakfast was ok, but no juice at all.

“Poor quality hotel. I tried my very best to give every benefit of the doubt, but in the end they just came up short on satisfaction. Especially by not having extra towels, short of borrowing from vacant rooms and no working ice machine. The ice is much needed to chill medicines in the absence of a refrigerator. I am sorry, but I can not recommend this place to anyone.”

• Listed and we didn¿t even sleep there!

“Located in a very scary part of town we drove all night with reservations and when we arrived we were very disappointed. First off, we called for directions and the girl at the front desk proceeded to send us in the wrong direction for 20 minutes! Turns out she'd just moved there 2 weeks before the hotel parking lot was very dark and sparse. The pool was not covered and extremely dirty. The gate surrounding the pool was about to fall over as if someone had tried to climb it a multitude of times. When we went to check in we were greeted by a very dank and musty smell. To make a long story short, we ended up checking in but never slept there just didn¿t feel safe.”

• Handicap parking spaces are convient to front door.
• The king sized bed was so hard, I was not sure if it was a mattress or a board. I believe the carpet would have been softer.

“I requested a non-smoking room. I have a bad knee and needed a room convient for my walking. I was placed in a single room but on a smoking floor. It reeked with smoke odors. Even to this day, almost a week after, my clothes and suitcase are stinking from my stay. They need an air sanitizer to be run for over a day in each room. It was a dump for a Days Inn. It sure was a pricy motel to be considered as economy. I can not recommend this motel. I know I had to take what I could find, on a short notice, and I really got taken. I had had an unexpected death in my family, and I had to be there for the funeral. I travel to New Bern, NC. at least once each year. I will be sure not to stay at this Days Inn again. Oh yes, the continental breakfast was lousy. Your only choices were a bagel or something called a cake and a cup of coffee. Even the juice machine didn't work.”

• They did not bother me once I was in the room.
