  • This hotel is in desparate need of complete renovation.

“We were so disappointed in the cleanliness of our room. I stepped in 2 wet, stained carpet areas, which housekeeping took care of by throwing towels over when we complained. There was a black stained area on the ceiling that was wet & soggy when touched, other ceiling areas were peeling, the wood was rotted around the door to the bathroom, the pillows were severely stained, although housekeeping said that they had no replacements, so we wrapped them in towels to sleep. Awful!!”

  • The staff was excellent - responsive, attentive and very friendly.
  • This is not a luxury hotel. The rooms need to be painted and the furniture, carpet, and bed linens need to be replaced.

“This is not a four star hotel. The rooms need to be refreshed - the chairs were threadbare, the carpet worn, the windows were dirty as was the bathroom, no down comforter or down pillows on the bed, the safe was missing a door and the room only came with plastic glasses. However, the location is good and the staff was excellent.”

  • Location.
  • Bedding and bed were sub-par. Plastic glasses in 4 star hotel.

“This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The bedding, lighting, soaps, etc. were well below this level. Most of the staff were helpful but one person simply had no affect at all. He could not manage a smile or be pleasant. Not a person to represent the public face. Ordered a van for return to airport. Van never arrived on time.”

  • The location and friendliness of staff.
  • Perhaps not a 4 star hotel.

“Overall it was nice, but definitely not 4 star-the toilet paper dispenser fell off the wall and hardware was missing from the furniture. The room was clean and welcoming, if a bit out-dated. The value was there, the location was terrific, but I think 4 star was stretching it a bit. Also, I feel you must advise travelers that there is a mandatory $34 valet parking service.”

“This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. The location is nice close to Georgetown.”

  • Location and room's size.
  • Smoke smell in our room.

“It's a good hotel, with an excellent staff, but with an strong smell to smoke in our room.”

  • Location was good, easy access to public trans.

“The room had old food in the fridge, the carpet was very stained, the bathroom walls were rotting, trash was not emptied during maid service. Toiletries were not replenished over 3 days. Check in was poor. The lobby was dirty, the elevators were beaten up, the halls were stained and dirty. The hotel is located nicely, its only good feature.”

“Small lobby, and check in when in a car difficult because of lack of curb space and heavy traffic. Not helpful when asking for good local restaurant outside of hotel. I was very surprised to find an older synthetic, foam like velor blanket such as used to be in the airport chain hotels. Checkout was complicated by the fact valet parker was nowhere to be found at 6 am. I was told, after waiting for 15 minutes, that he had gone home, and then led to a basement parking garage where I was told I would have to pull my own car out because they had parked my full sized rental in a compact car space.”

  • Our room was very quiet despite being on a busy street and the room windows opened.
  • The bathroom/dressing area was a little small.

“Nice traditional hotel with comfortable rooms, well located near the Foggy Bottom metro stop. Good ethnic restaurants nearby.”

  • Nice room and excellent location.
  • Bagel and tea at $11 is a bit pricey.

“Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Good for business traveler with big desk and mini-fridge.”

“Great location and next to Georgetown. Room was quiet with comfortable bed.”

  • Great location to Georgetown and metro stop.
  • Room a bit old and generally rundown.

“The room was a bit rundown, but the location was ideal and that made up for a lot. Cute bar in the lobby and friendly staff. The hotel was clean, just a bit dated.”

  • Easy walking distance to Georgetown.
  • Parking rate was exorbitant. Hotel charged for internet.

“While the staff was friendly, the facility seemed to have seen its better days. The hotel charged a very high rate for parking, and it even required a fee for wireless internet access.”

  • The service was outstanding.
  • The sheets (bedding) were a little worn.

“Great location. Great service; the staff is superb. Spacious rooms; the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is sparkling clean. This is the perfect hotel to stay in if you plan to visit Georgetown. All of the shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The metro is just 2 blocks away. Can't ask for better!”

  • Location.
  • Quality of the room was far less than I was lead to believe.

“The paint in the bathroom was cracked and peeling, which was far less than attractive. The wallpaper was in the same condition. The gap below the door to the hallway let a tremendous amount of light in while trying to sleep.”

  • Quiet, proximity to Georgetown and to Foggy Bottom Metro.
  • Bathroom needed some maintenance -- peeling paint, toilet loose, etc.

“Good hotel in a good location. My particular room needed some cosmetic maintenance, but no functional problems. Staff was helpful.”

  • It's in the heart of Washington DC.
  • The air conditioner made too much noise in middle of the night.

“The affordability.”

  • Very convenient to White House & Georgetown.
  • Needs some cosmetic updates.

“Overall, the location makes this hotel ideal when visiting DC. It's a short walk from most attractions, and convenient to Georgetown. With some upgrades, including a more comfortable bed, it would have been excellent.”
