“Standard Courtyard by Marriott in an awkward location in Alexandria, VA. Price was competitive relative to hotels in DC.”

“Clean, comfortable room. We used the free shuttle to and from the Metro station daily and everything went quite smoothly. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The staff was gracious very helpful with our many questions as this was our first visit to D.C.”

“On each of two nights I stayed, cars parked in the paid and "secured" hotel's garage were broken into. My car was one of those broken into during the first night.”

“I would avoid this hotel. It is not truly Pentagon South nor Old Town. This hotel should be avoided.”

“This was a good location for my son and me to stay. We were close to DC and all the local attractions but out of the way of the really heavy traffic that is so common in that area.”

“The hotel has a very warm, pretty lobby with gas log fireplace. Staff is friendly and outgoing. The shuttle driver (to airport/metro stop was very talkative, nice when I was alone at Christmas time. There were several families with children (a plus for me) who were having a good time - the pool and hot tub and exercise room were adequate. Very easy to get into Old Town Alexandria by car and to the metro by shuttle. It's very close to a retirement home my parents lived in until they passed away, and not far from my brother's house, so it felt like a home location to me. It's unfortunate that they charge a daily fee for parking.”

“I was very pleased; a lot of the staff were very friendly and made you feel at home, good times will be remembered of this hotel. We were very close to all we had to do, and having a parking garage made it so easy. I would of been nice that they could accept pets under 25lbs, but we made do.”

“The location is perfect. It's only 2 minutes walking from a big shopping center. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The fitness room and swimming pool are great. I like this hotel a lot and definitely will come back here for another business trip.”

“Very nice hotel with great amenities. Great price for the star rating. The location is better for locals or those with a navigational system because it is located close to a more urban location.”

“The hotel was, simply put, nothing special, but for the price and location near our destination, it was worth it, although the actual premises was tough to find.”

“I was promised a room with a refrigerator (keep insulin fresh) and I had to keep after those (5) phone calls and three different desk personnel. Was told housekeeping would have to do this thing. Although we stayed in a room with a console for a refrigerator, it was useless. Curtains allowed too much light to shine through. Do it yourself $12.50 breakfast is a far cry from the free continental most folks are offering these days! No offer to help with baggage at check in was followed by any help (missing valet carts); however, we booked another night as soon as we checked in as to allow our visit to become more fruitful. Not 15 minutes after getting unpacked and getting ice for medicine! Following morning, we were locked out of our room (key card malfunction) returning wet from the pool only to face emergency extraction from the elevator which kept us captive) upon returning to the front desk we were informed the additional night's stay facilitated a change in policy which invalidated our keys (needed to swipe cards for additional parking charges) even though we very seldom carry our cards in our bathing suits! Facilitating another roundtrip to satisfy jumping through the Marriott ringmasters hoop! No menu's were available for restaurants (local when the hotel room service and restaurant are closed) other than that my suggestion to Marriott personnel would be to enroll in a hospitality because (not necessarily at Cornell) in order to see just how far they are from their claim to provide "hospitality" much less excellence!”
