“This is a nice budget friendly hotel to stay in for visiting the DC area but being in a suburban local. We enjoyed being across the street from the metro station but it took 40 minutes to get to the Washington mall so no going back into the city once you returned to your room. The staff was okay but the hotel is not one I would stongly recommend for young chilren. It seems better suited for romance or business travelers.”

“The lobby was well designed and in good condition, along with the breakfast area. The room was a good size. Outside street noise was loud although we slept well. The bed linens were clean.”

“The room and bathroom were newly renovated with nice linens, lots of pillows and good mattress. The BR has granite counter top, wall mounted hairdryer. There is a separate counter for the coffee pot and ice bucket. The room had a mini fridge. I didn't check closely enough as to the breakfast being complementary. It was not so I was surprised with the $13.25 price tag for cold food in the buffet servers. The parking is in a separate garage.”

“It was good for the money, not near much. Had to travel a distance to get anywhere of interest.”

“It was great. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are excellent. The staff was outstanding, they made sure we had all of the information we needed to catch the bus, shuttle, metro, super shuttle
and transportation we needed to get to where we wanted to go. And the fresh baked, warm cookies at 6:00 pm were an unexpected bonus.”

“Standard Courtyard by Marriott in an awkward location in Alexandria, VA. Price was competitive relative to hotels in DC.”

“Clean, comfortable room. We used the free shuttle to and from the Metro station daily and everything went quite smoothly. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The staff was gracious very helpful with our many questions as this was our first visit to D.C.”

“On each of two nights I stayed, cars parked in the paid and "secured" hotel's garage were broken into. My car was one of those broken into during the first night.”

“I would avoid this hotel. It is not truly Pentagon South nor Old Town. This hotel should be avoided.”

“This was a good location for my son and me to stay. We were close to DC and all the local attractions but out of the way of the really heavy traffic that is so common in that area.”

“The hotel has a very warm, pretty lobby with gas log fireplace. Staff is friendly and outgoing. The shuttle driver (to airport/metro stop was very talkative, nice when I was alone at Christmas time. There were several families with children (a plus for me) who were having a good time - the pool and hot tub and exercise room were adequate. Very easy to get into Old Town Alexandria by car and to the metro by shuttle. It's very close to a retirement home my parents lived in until they passed away, and not far from my brother's house, so it felt like a home location to me. It's unfortunate that they charge a daily fee for parking.”
