  • They gave us a free upgrade to a much nicer room for the cost of the less expensive room.
  • The hotel seemed very large but disconnected buildings were far apart 100 yards.

“This is hotel designed for business gatherings and team building. This works very well for that I am sure. I was very satisfied with service however would not recommend for weekend getaway or folks with children.”

  • The land was well kept and looked nice.
  • I asked a queen size bed and received a full. The room was not worth the money.

“If it was not for the convenience factor I would not stay here again. It is nice but not worth the price.”

  • Location was good and staff very co-operative.

“The heat/air system can only allow one system to work at a time and takes 2/3 days to shift over. We had 80 degree weather and no air conditioning for 3 days! We were very uncomfortable! They did provide a fan but it was only of minimum help. Also restaurant dinner hours were very short, after 8:30 p.m. only food available in the bar and no breakfast/coffee after 8:30 a.m.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[6] • Location:[4]

  • The hotel is located on a large estate with nice exercise facilities and walking trails.
  • The rooms are very, very small and cramped.

“This hotel is located in Bethesda and is not near any metro station. When we checked in our rooms tiny with almost no room between the bed and the wall and there was only a full size bed in the room, instead of the two queens or a king size bed. When we pointed out the discrepancy we were given keys to another room and were "upgraded" to a room that had a single queen size bed. To make up the lack of beds a twin roll away was provided. The air conditioning in the room did not work, the water pressure in the tub was weak, and every person walking down the hall could be heard through the walls. The hotel itself was lacking the sparkle of cleanliness in the main areas and the exercise areas. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

  • Good exercise room, beautiful "campus."
  • Room was small (but well furnished).

“Beautiful surroundings, nice exercise facility, good Internet access (wire-based and free), free parking, comfortable and well furnished room. The only "shortcoming" was the room was small.”

“I would never go to this hotel again. I stayed in room and it was just tiny and very uncomfortable.”

“The place was horribly located, the rooms were like a dorm. The service was non-existent.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • The facility is an easily accessible country setting, just outside the nearby hustle/bustle.
  • My room was quite compact/small.

“This 85 acre site offers a variety of clean, common facilities. The morning breakfast (brunch) offered a tremendous variety of high quality food. The bar/lounge/grill was quite adequate. I only wish the weather was better to allow enjoyment of the outdoor facilities. My room was small, though clean and adequately equipped.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[5] • Location:[4]

  • Too many things, described below.

“I stayed once before in a different building and it was "Marriott style" small room and simple decor. However, this room was horribly small and the stain on the chair was disgusting as I used it as a night table since there was not one (room so small!) and discovered in the morning this disgusting stain which I believe to be body fluids -- so grossed out as I had sat in the chair unknowingly all night plus my hands were on the chair/stain area when using it as a nightstand! Manager apologized, assured me the stain was not what I thought it could be. Forget it! wouldn't choose to stay there again ever!”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Convenient, clean, nice staff, nice setting.
  • There was no hot water in the shower. Tiny dorm-like rooms. Noise travels from hallway a problem.

“The hotel is very convenient to Bethesda, though a bit hard to find. It's located in a nice suburban campus and is geared mostly toward conferences and exec. Leadership groups. The room was nice but tiny, like a college dorm. The noise in the hallway and from the plumbing was a minor annoyance. The main problem was no hot water in the morning. I waited for 15 minutes, but the problem persisted. The staff apologized, but didn't seem too concerned to take any visible steps to check on it or correct the problem. Made me wonder if this is normal for this facility. Overall, not bad, but without this basic amenity, they get a poor rating from me.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[2]

  • Room was clean and service was good.
  • Location far away from public transit.

“The hotel itself was fine. However, my main complaint with its location. It is not close to the dc metro which makes getting around difficult. Now there is shuttle service. However, the shuttles run infrequently and only during the early morning and late at night. As such I would not recommend this hotel to business travelers.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • The staffs at the front desk and at the restaurant were real nice.
  • Room was really small, no clear parking for check in.

“Upon arrival, we received a parking violation because of were we parked for check in. That was a huge thumb down for us. I would much prefer a kind staff member to explain to us what the problem was rather than giving us a violation. The room was ridiculously small. However, we were only there for one night and it was not a big deal. The quality of the room (i.e. mattress, desk chair) was nice.”

  • The grounds were gorgeous.
  • Room & bed size: super small; bed a double not a queen.

“The hotel amenities themselves were fine. The problem was with the rooms. They were tiny w/ only about one foot between bed and wall on one side and 2 feet between bed and desk on the other. The bed was a double and for 2 grown adults very confining. We were definitely claustrophobic in the space and spent as little time as possible there. Also no fridge; we had meds to store and that was problematic.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Continental breakfast and beverages available and snacks, great idea.
  • No refrigerator - went out to eat and could not bring home leftovers.

“The hotel caters to the business groups more so than the small business person. The restaurant catered to the business group also or the price for individuals was quite high. $25/per person. We went to the bar and ate. Their prices were quite good.”
