“The place was for homeless people or on welfare. The place was dirty, towels were so nasty that we went to Target to buy towels. The bed smell bad.”

“This was the worst experience that I booked. Only one queen size bed was available for those who reserved room.”

“Ok for sleeping and being gone during the day- the staff was not helpful in anything other than directions around town they provided in a handout.”

“Staff must learn how to smile when greeting the customer. They were helpful, but like robots. No expressions on their faces. Management must teach them how to make the guest feel welcome and desired and not just somebody who is getting service for payment.”

“Well located hotel in Gaithersburg-Rockville corridor with capable, friendly, responsive and security-minded staff. Rooms are clean and have the pots, pans and dishware if you want to cook in or order in. A good hotel for travelers wanting a moderate price hotel with more of a home away from home feels than standard hotel.

“Well located property in Rockville - Gaithersburg corridor with hands on, helpful, friendly and responsive staff. Rooms are clean, well stocked with cooking tools and dishware for those wanting to eat in at this extended stay hotel. Car is needed to access restaurants and major transportation routes. A good hotel.”

“I have only stayed in one hotel room that I thought was worse than this one. The staff was inexperienced. The room was dirty. It looked like maybe only the bed had been made, but the room wasn't swept or dusted. I'm not even sure the sheets had been changed. The pillows smelled bad. The lamp shades had stains as did the fridge.”

“All in all the hotel was nice for the price. I was disappointed on the following things. I had a smoking room with no ash tray, when asked maid for ash tray she gave me a glass to use. Had no forks in the room, when I asked for some forks I was given plastic forks.”

“This property is well located and well managed. It was recently renovated and looks nice. The room was good - there is actually a nice spicy -potpourri odor as you open the front door of the room - very inviting. The staff is so nice - even offer coupons if you are shopping and Crispy Crème donuts at the front desk on Sat. Good job! An excellent business traveler experience for me.”

“The grounds were attractively landscaped, and the facility was situated well off major thoroughfares. Rooms were quiet. Shopping and restaurants were conveniently located less than one mile away. The hotel does not have any fitness center, treadmills, etc. Our room had clean towels, as well as a few dirty ones from the prior occupant. The rug was a tad dirty and unsightly. Daily housekeeping, if desired, was an additional charge.”

“It is okay for a business traveler for a couple of days, but the Extended Stay Deluxe in Gaithersburg is not that far away, just as close to the Shady Grove Metro and is much nicer and cleaner. Some of the people that stayed at the Rockville Homestead were a bit questionable when I was there also.”

“I was very pleased with this place, for the money, there was adequate comfortable space to sleep, read, prepare a meal, and watch TV. It was a quiet area but very close to many shopping areas. They are doing renovations and that added to the general feeling of messiness, although there was no noise disturbance. All of the staff that I encountered was pleasant, I felt safe as a single female and I really felt that I was in a good situation at a very good price.”

“Room was nice, well designed, clean and with many conveniences. Why this chain would purchase such poor quality beds for business travelers is a mystery to me. Everything else about the room and facility was first class but I would never stay at this hotel chain by choice.”

“The staff was not helpful and even mildly surly, i.e. staying on the phone on a likely personal phone call instead of coming to the front desk where we were. There was a kitchenette with dishes and pots, but no dish soap, paper towels, or dishrags. I used the washcloths. We had an accessible room for no particular reason. At least the shower had a tub and was not a "roll-in". It was located convenient for driving, but not at all for metro. No directions to local amenities were provided. It did have Wi-Fi for a one-time fee.”

“I think that I have said it all. If anything, they should at least buy new box springs and mattresses. I would wonder if the beds were bought at a yard sale and are more than 40 years old.”
