“The clerk at the desk should have asked whether I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room or informed me it was a smoking room prior to me discovering it. The room did not have a room service menu in it and when calling down to the front desk, I was told it would be brought up to me. It took a second call 20 minutes later to find out if the menu was coming up. The front desk clerk said she forgot what room I was in when I called. The next night I wanted to order from room service and the menu was taken out of the room by housekeeping. The room reeked of smoke, the wallpaper was bubbling up from the walls and several things in the room were stained from past smokers. Would I stay at this hotel again. Never!”

“Staff was very friendly, quick to respond to requests and extra items to your room. pool area clean with plenty of towels on hand. the cleaning of the rooms was fair. be sure to ask if there are any planned activities that will keep you from using the pool/exercise area a they do not offer the info. [most hotels won't].”

“Staff were fine. The cable viewing choices were moronic. Further, the TV did not even tell you what channel you were watching. My room could not have been farther from the elevator. Incandescent bulbs in lamps. Even Best Value & Econolodge have the new energy saving bulbs. Very telling of management, either ignorance or ego.”

“I got a big, pretty bed with lots of fluffy pillows, a nice spacious room with granite bath and all the extras (coffee maker, hair dryer, alarm clock, Wi-Fi available). The restaurant served up the tastiest burger I've had in years (all black Angus) and a delightful crab cake stuffed in a Portobello mushroom. The staff were super friendly. And although this was all just a few miles from the airport, I only heard one plane the whole stay. I really liked this place! Would certainly go back next time I'm in Richmond.”

“Hotel was basically in need of some major remodeling. The bed, linens, furniture, carpets, walls, wallpaper, etc. Were worn and old. The TV was ancient. Maybe this was a 3 star 15 years ago. But now it can't compete with others in the area. The doubletree at 2.5 stars (which we stayed at last year) was a much nicer, cleaner, modern hotel for the money.”

“I wanted to leave as soon as I drove into the parking lot and looked at the surrounding neighborhood and the experience just went downhill from there. As soon as I walked into the lobby, it smelled of fried food and the clerk was dressed in jeans and not very pleasant. The facility was in a state of disrepair all over.”

“The hotel had the showings of a 3-star but it is not being properly maintained - it was dirty. Breakfast was very disappointing. Breakfast area was dirty, including dishes. It was disappointing not to get a non-smoking room even though I reserved on early in advance. I did like the convenience of the shuttle service from airport.”

“This hotel is a short 5 minute drive from the airport and it has an interesting atrium with indoor pool. However, it is a bit run down. Good for a price conscious business traveler, but not much else.”

“This is a hotel I would gladly stay in again. There were no unpleasant surprises, and we loved the pool and hot tub. Rooms were clean and nice. 3-star rating is appropriate. Kudos to this hotel!”

“Due to weather issues, we got in very late (2:30 am). Person at the front desk upgraded us to a two bedroom suite and although the hotel shuttle driver was off, they paid for our cab ride to the hotel. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable.”

“The hotel is conveniently located by Richmond Airport. However that is the only thing good about this hotel. It is somewhat run down and in need of a renovation. Wallpaper was coming off of the walls, bathroom fixtures needed replacement, it just had a very cheap feel. Furthermore, wireless access was not free which is becoming the standard at most hotels.”
