  • It isn't the Ritz, but it's clean.
  • Their net access is slower than dial-up - almost unusable.

“I was here for a week on business travel. The location was great for me, the room was surprisingly spacious and reasonably clean, and the kitchen was really convenient. Staff at the front desk was really nice. Furniture and fixtures were a bit dingy (the whole place could really use a remodel), but serviceable. I have a technical job for a small startup and work from my room in the evenings, so internet access is absolutely vital to me. Their WiFi was so slow that it was almost unusable; page loads typically took several minutes and often timed out entirely. I don't expect much from hotel WiFi, but that's totally unacceptable. It's a shame, but the WiFi is a deal-breaker for me. I travel to Reston every couple months, but won't be staying here again. Not recommended for business travel unless you don't need to get online.”

  • The restaurants in the area.
  • Not clean.

“This hotel has a 3 burner stove. No pots or pans or utensils. Refrigerator not working right froze all of my food. Coffee maker. No coffee mugs or cups anywhere. Hair in bathroom. This hotel could use a major refurbishing. The other reviews were so positive.”

  • Rooms were dirty and grimy.

“I was given a smoking room when I had reserved non-smoking. Got it changed the next day. The reception was unprepared for our arrival despite us calling days before to confirm our booking. The kitchen was grimy; literally green around the stove. Not enough utensils and no toaster (there was one in the smoking room!). Bathroom was ok. Bed linen was very poor quality; seemed it didn't fit properly kept sliding off. Dishes aren't washed during a full service. Air conditioner was terribly loud! Although it seemed like it was dusted - it felt really dusty! The hallways are rife with spiders and webs. It is located across the road from a superstore - bonus when you need to buy disinfectant! The laundry service was convenient. There free YMCA gym to use. It is located close to the town centre and has a few restaurants which are walking distance. Cleaning staff were friendly.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[3] • Location:[5]

  • Courtyard landscaping and outdoor grill available.
  • Location was very hard to find, bed was uncomfortable.

“This hotel is ideal for an extended stay, with the in-suite kitchen and outdoor grilling available, but lacks the high end amenities many business travelers seek (high-end bedding, large desk area, hotel-style lobby and on-site dining.)”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Located near the conference I was attending and other business interests of mine.
  • Not well marked along interstate or local roads. I had to really look for the hotel.

“The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. I especially enjoyed the complementary YMCA membership for all travelers who stayed at this particular location, and free bicycle rental. Could use a few soda machines at the facility. If it had any I did not find them.”

“Full kitchen is nice, especially for extended stays. Other amenities are very limited.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[4] • Location:[4]

  • Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
  • Smelled, dirty under sink & top of fridge, missing utensils.

“It was ok, rooms should be checked before each guest to insure a fully stocked kitchen. Only one night stand next to bed makes it very inconvenient for the person sleeping on the side without one.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[2] • Location:[1]

  • Very clean.
  • Toilet broken, bath tub drain broken, 1 spoon, 1 glass, lights flashed off and on, tv faulty.

“Had kithchen with utensils. Only one glass, and one spoon. Coffee suplied for coffee maker tasted months old. Bathroom a disaster area. No marking for hot and cold water, drain broken in bathtub. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and the AC labored loudly and still didn't cool the room. Had to pay tolls to get any where. ”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • Minutes from the airport; large, comfortable room.
  • Not quite as clean as I like.

“Overall, it was a nice hotel. The room was a little bit dirty, the floors need a good scrubbing at least. The room was larger and had more beds than I assumed there'd be when I made the reservation. Staff seemed a little irritated by the super-low rate I managed to get.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[1] • Location:[8]

  • The Carrabas Restaurant out front was great.
  • Lots of mold and mildew - smelly

“Advertised that there was a kitchenette with dishes. There was only one bowl, one spoon, three knives, two forks but 4 pans! The coffee maker didn't work. It was difficult to find even with the on-line directions and calling the hotel for directions. The room really smelled like mold. The refrigerator had a lot of mildew in it. It took over a half an hour to check out because no one was at the desk. Someone knocked on the door at 8 am asking what time we were leaving - we'd planned to sleep in until 9.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Well worth the price.
  • Small rooms, staff not available late night.

“Friendly staff, but not readily available for late check-in's, and not very good with directions in the vicinity of the hotel. Clean room, acceptable for the price.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Wonderful location. Right next to shopping, restaurants, and a nice gym.
  • There was a foul smell in the room, possibly from the cleaning materials they used.

“This hotel is wonderfully located. It is only about 10 minutes from Dulles International Airport. Next door are a couple of restaurants including a Carraba's and a gym. The room is small, but it has everything one wants for an extended stay hotel. The check in staff was kind and helpful. My only complaint was a foul odor in the room, which I think comes from the cleaning products used. However, it was no so overpowering to lead me to request a different room.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • GREAT location, close to dining and shopping, very safe, upscale neighborhood, excellent and friendly staff
  • Not enough parking spots in front!

“We had the option to stay inside Washington D.C. city limits, but we chose to stay at this location A) because it was in a very safe neighborhood, and B) because there were nice restaurants and shopping close by. The staff member was very helpful and completed our stay-- a great representation for Homestead!”

  • The hotel was conveniently located to the exit.
  • There was no sign at the street directing guests to the hotel.

“The room was clean and the amenities great. The parking was convenient to the room. The courtyard had tables available and were utilized by guests. I would stay at this location again.”
