“The hotel has nice staff but they lack attention to detail. The first keys to a room I was given was to a room that was already occupied, lucky for me they were not in their room, the second room had paper thin floors, I could hear every foot step from the room above in this old building, the garden rooms, it was loud. The third room was just right. Finally.”

“Overall, I enjoyed my 2 nights. The room was huge, the beds were comfortable enough, and the bathrooms were large and nice new tile and fixtures! You can imagine the history in the rooms with the large windows and (sadly no longer in use) fireplace. The location wasn't bad really- it is close to the historic areas, plenty of on street parking though you have to move your car during the day. The major cons were very thin walls (but luckily no one was staying next door), flickering lights while ironing, and a small TV. It has a lot of history, which is a nice change from the chain hotels. ”

“If you tired of business-looking hotel, sterile lobbies and neon lights, then this hotel is for you: great location, a fountain in the backyard and when inside, you are far away from the rest of the world! I went to Richmond from Philadelphia just to spend one night for a very nice date. Romantic and perfect for that! Highly recommended!”

“This is a renovated old building with interesting (but small) rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. It is set at the edge of a rather run-down neighborhood, but close to the capital building. It has a good deal of charm, but seems a little "down-at-heel" Central location is useful, street parking is limited, but valet parking is offered.”

“This hotel has a rustic appeal that reminds one of the small rooms in Europe. However, with the bugs that come into the room every night, it takes away the appeal. The carpets in the room were filthy. I thought we had purchased a double room, but we received a double bed only. It's not family friendly, no amenities for small children. The staff is exceptional though. They are able to recommend services for nearby establishments.”

“I always been satisfied in the past too with this hotel. This hotel was well below my expectations. The room was not in good condition and it felt somewhat unsafe. They gave me the worst room in the place. The staff, however, was pleasant and helpful.”
