  • Pool was nice.
  • Dirty, uncomfortable, incompetent staff.

“This is the worst hotel I have stayed in years. Fire alarms in the morning, dirty and smelly rooms, incompetent employees, outdated. Non-Smoking room that smelled like smoke.”

  • The location was convenient.
  • Everything about this hotel was negative!

“The carpet was filthy, we could not walk barefoot. It had huge stains or who knows what origin. The picture on the wall was missing but there were lovely huge brackets protruding where it should have been. The bathroom floor was so sticky that our shoes stuck on impact, my hot shower was cold, and when I looked up in the shower, to my horror, there was hair on the wall not belonging to me. The staff was not friendly or in any way accommodating. The only reason we did not check out and go to the neighboring hotel is because we had our small dog and a pet-friendly hotel is not easily found. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. In my opinion, it ranks right up there with a Motel 6. I will be complaining to the General Manager today. Our weekly trips to Richmond will be spent at the new Marriott in the future and the puppy will go to a daycare.”

  • Truly impressed with the size of the room and the bed was extremely comfortable.
  • The floor design was quite confusing.

“Great value for the price. Great sized room, wonderful food and the bed slept like a dream. The only thing that was disappointing is the additional $10 charge for internet. In my opinion that should be complimentary for a 3 star hotel.”

  • Close location to quality eateries and 2 interstate highways: 64 & 95.
  • Structure/layout rooms too far from main lobby; internal stairways.

“This property assigned a solo female traveler to the murder room (last room at the end of a long hallway, in the farthest building from the lobby - Building E - 3rd Floor, right at the exit door). When challenged about this unacceptable placement, the desk manager on duty at 3 am ET disputed the location of the room in one breath, while later explaining refrigerators in those rooms because of the long distance walk from the main lobby. That manager also claimed not to have made the assignment himself and suggested I state a room preference when staying at that property in the future. It should be common sense not to assign such rooms when alternatives are clearly available. If the guest should not have to pre-advise a preference not to be stuck out of sight in a potentially dangerous location in the hotel. In addition, when questioned about moving the refrigerator from the murder room to my new assignment on the second floor of the main building, around the corner from the elevator, the same desk manager informed me the unit could not be moved because the rooms in that wing were so far away from the main lobby/restaurant. When asked about availability of another refrigerator, I was later informed the 2 units in housekeeping were broken and that he did not have a key to the storage closet to check for more units. Someone was supposed to call my room in the AM after housekeeping arrived to inquire whether the frig was still desired. No one contacted me about a refrigerator for the remainder of my 4 day stay.”

  • Staff was friendly.
  • No hot tub to go with the pool.

“Nice room, friendly staff. Safe area and convenient to I-64. Loved the shower in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have a hot tub to go with the pool. Pool temperature was cold.”

  • I liked that a concierge called to ask if I was satisfied with the room.
  • I didn't like that I could hear the AC rattling.

“This was a suitable hotel. I had a room with a king sized bed and the mattress was heavenly. I used the workout room and it had some basic equipment in there. Overall, I had a nice experience.”

  • The room was much larger than I expected, bathroom huge, & bedding great.
  • Hallway carpets could be cleaner. Needs some minor updating.

“I was very pleasantly surprised by the large room, huge bathroom, nice bedding, and free business center with internet. I would not hesitate to visit this hotel again.”

  • The bed was so comfortable.
  • The facilities are spread out and many buildings.

“We spent the night on our way to another destination. We loved our room for the price. The bed was extremely comfortable. Even the chairs were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great and included some unique items. The hotel is spread out, but very well marked and easy to navigate. Nice place and will stay there again.”

  • The rooms were very nicely decorated.
  • Strange layout.

“I was expecting a low quality hotel but the hotel was actually very nice. The staff was helpful and the room was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable (feather mattress toppers) which is the most important thing for me. Our room smelled like smoke but I did not ask for them to move us. They were very apologetic when I mentioned in during checkout. There was a noisy convention going on while we were there but we could not hear it at all from our room.”

  • The landscaping was well kept and pool was well situated.
  • Internet was not complimentary in room or lobby, had to pay daily fee.

“Clean, good location, and great customer service provided by staff. Unfortunately, hotel nickel and dimes you for internet service and phone calls. Business center only had two computers available for free access to internet. Two computers is too few for this size hotel.”

  • The room was nice and roomy. Very comfortable.
  • I didn't like the room service, the food was terrible.

“Everything was good but don't order room service. I had the worst ever breakfast. But the next day the restaurant manager gave be breakfast on the house. They did everything to try to make the bad into good.”

  • We had a large room with the bed type we requested, and facilities were well-kept.
  • Our room did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival or during our stay.

“The hotel staff were friendly and were helpful when we needed directions, etc. The only downside was finding random pieces of trash in our room when we arrived, and new trash in our room after it had been cleaned. Kind of weird, but generally speaking my boyfriend and I always prefer to stay at hotel!”
