• Nothing.
• I was charged for the room 2 times.

“The room was clean but the heating system didnt work, it would get real hot then the Air conditioner comes on it got real cold and continues like this all day & night. Business traveler this is okay but would not bring the family here.”

• There were at least 10 things broken or otherwise unsatisfactory in our room.

“All buildings in the entire area was run-down and/or abandoned. There was exterior damage on the building. The phone, smoke alarm, dresser handle and TV outlet were all damaged or broken. There was no clock or alarm. The light switch in the bathroom didn't do anything. There was a glass-block window with no shade that made it impossible to make the room dark. The bathtub drain was extremely slow, so slow that there was a pile of hair left on the other end of the tub. The desk clerk was difficult to understand. I was completely shocked that a brand-name motel was this bad. At breakfast the corn flakes and raisin bran were mixed together in the same container. The pool was too dirty to consider swimming in. The box springs were encased in torn plastic. The sheets were not fitted and at least one had a dirty streak on it. I know you're wondering why we stayed if it was this bad, and I kind of wonder that too, but it was so bad it was actually funny! We're campers, so we survived by using a camping mentality.”

• The staff was wonderful, the room big and roomy.
• The smoke detector was removed.

“Although the smoke detector was removed which made a little nervous, the staff was incredibly pleasant. Keeping in mind this was a smoking room I always bring my own air freshener, the room was big.”

• The staff was wonderful, the room big and roomy.
• The smoke dictator was removed.

“Although not for the elite, my stay at the Smithville HoJo's Express wasn't awful. Provided a smoking room one always needs to remember it is a smoking room. I brought my own air freshener. The room has seen it's better days, but it was somewhat clean; the bathtub shower splash could use a good cleaning due to soap scum build-up, the bed was a little hard, but clean. I was a tad concern with the fact the smoke detector had been removed from the wall, and there was only one free outlet. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The Hyatt it's not, but for the price the sheets were clean and the bed actually was better then it looked.”

• The hotel smelled musty, we left itchy.

“Bottom line. My husband told me that we will NEVER EVER stay there again. He doesn't care what it costs he'll pay to stay elsewhere.”

• Not fancy but clean and the staff was wonderful, great pool.
• Nothing to tell.

“Hotel was clean, quiet. The staff made security rounds during the night. Housekeeping staff was available and ready to help out at all hours. We stayed an additional night and really enjoyed the stay. Cannot say anything bad about this little motel.”
