  • Close to where we needed to be and affordable.
  • Very outdated and not real clean. Didn't even have alarm clocks or hairdryers.

“Very bare-bones hotel. Although the room was good sized, it wasn't real clean, and lacked so many amenities - alarm clock, hairdryer, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave. There was no fitness center either. It did have a decent breakfast area, and the staff was friendly and helpful.”

  • Price and location.
  • Noisy air conditioner and you could hear when guests walk in room above you.

“If you are looking for just a place to stop and rest that is convenient, inexpensive and has very few amenities, then this is a good bet. There wasn't enough outlets in the room, so you had to choose to either plug in the small refrigerator or the microwave since the other outlet had the TV plugged in it. We were awakened each morning by heavy walking coming from the room above ours. The complementary breakfast was very sparse. No fruit, cold cereal etc.”

  • Location.
  • Dirty, noisy, no service.

“The tub was dirty. Room not regularly cleaned. Lots of dust on the heating controls. The floors creak so very noisy when the people above you walk. Plumbing noisy so you are awakened when those in rooms near you get up. Sheets on the double beds are twin flat sheets so the bottom sheet comes off. I grew up w/o fitted sheets and know that a standard full flat sheet can be put on as the bottom sheet and will stay. Can't do so with a twin sheet. Stayed for two nights. Absolutely no room service.”

  • All of the staff was most pleasant always.
  • It is just very old, run down, smells not so great, needs remodeling.

“Even on a UVA football weekend, I just can't stomach paying over $100 a night for this hotel. Nice people work there, but it is just way too outdated.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[1] • Location:[5]

  • Conveniently located off 29 N with fairly easy in and out.
  • Paper thin walls and floors - you hear everything around you.

“This is an old, dingy, poorly run place strictly for the very budget conscious. It certainly beats sleeping in the car, but it is at the lowest rung of the motel ladder.”

  • Close to many places we needed to visit.
  • Wanted to charge extra for everything.

“This hotel was definitely not well-kept. They were in the process of changing carpets is some rooms and the new carpet and the old carpet was strewn everywhere, on the sidewalks in the parking area. It was raining and very difficult to walk with all the debris around. I called upon receiving confirmation of my offer being accepted and asked for two beds. I was told that would be fine. When I arrived I was given a room with one bed and was told two beds world cost me more. I asked for a rollaway and was told that would cost me more. ”

  • The people were friendly.
  • Other guests at the Hotel were loud. Found a drunk sleeping on the outside stairwell.

“The hotel is not bad, but they wanted a $10 deposit in order to use the phone. This process was a little cumbersome.”

  • I didn't like anything about the hotel.

“I was under the impression that a standard hotel room is equipped with two beds unless specified. After I checked into the hotel my room had one full size bed. I was not satisfied with the service of the hotel.”
