  • The rooms were large, most part was clean, the staff was receptive responsive and friendly.
  • The exercise room was not kept up. There were no clean towels on the rack (all were dirty), the TV was broken. One of the elevators wasn't working.

“There was a large bowel movement in the toilet when first checked in with one of our party. The exercise room was not kept up, the towels were dirty and the TV broken. One of the elevators was broken for a day, but the rooms were large and staff was very friendly.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[1] • Location:[7]

  • Location.
  • Rude staff.

“I waited for 10 minutes at the front desk (only person in line) while the staff finished something else and took phone calls. Housekeeping came by 1 hour before check out and was annoyed (as judged by her nasty comments) about us not being ready yet. I'll stay at the Best Western next time. It's less attractive but they treat you better.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • The AC worked and free internet service was a plus. Bed sheets were clean.
  • Filthy washroom, dirty carpet, smelly room.

“I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room carpet had stains and the worst part was the restroom. They toilet seat was broken. Overall it was a bad experience -- I am lucky as it was only one night.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location and view from room, easy internet connection.
  • Noise level, bathtub needed replacement or repair.

“If one is looking for location in Downtown Raleigh, this hotel definitely has it. The front staff seemed courteous enough and fulfilled any requests we made. The view from our room was excellent, overlooking the state capitol. The noise level of the other guest was bad at times. This may have been due to the graduation commencements at one of the many colleges in town occurring the weekend of our stay. Also, the bathtub in the room had low water pressure and was in serious need of repair or replacement with the liner of the tub peeling off. Overall I was pleased and would consider staying here again.”

  • This hotel was exactly what we needed for a night away in Raleigh. The room is surprisingly large.
  • I did not experience anything else in the hotel. I was satisfied with the room.

“This is exactly what I expect for a 3-star hotel. Anymore, you pay for what you get and there wasn't anything exceptional about our stay. Our room was large, it has a cool shape since the hotel is circular shaped. The town is cool and it's in a good spot to walk around downtown and take it all in.”

  • Great location.
  • Quality.

“This hotel was in a great location for our needs. There was paint/plastic peeling from the tub that took an extra scrubbing outside of the shower to get off. The second night we watched as 10-20 youths got on the elevator with alcohol in front of the front desk staff with no one stopping them. This same group had to be removed at 2 AM by the police after repeated calls to the front desk by relatives of ours who were unfortunate enough to be on an adjoining floor. At check out the front desk staff was rude and dismissive of our comments and was complaining to another staff about having no one to clean rooms that day. Definitely one of our worst hotel stays. As for the restaurant, we went up for breakfast our first morning and were taken care of by the one waitress taking care of all of the patrons. She gave us a lecture for seating ourselves when we told her we waited quite a while at the stand she then complained that that was not her fault, there was no way she could take care of everything at one time.”

  • Good location for business Downtown.
  • Rooms were less than upscale.

“Hotel staff was great. Location to Downtown was even better, but the room was less than nice. Small rooms and dirty floors.”

  • Great location to restaurants and clubs.
  • Noisy, people slamming doors.

“Great location for a downtown stay. Close to restaurants and clubs. Not a romantic getaway, but great for business and leisure travelers who don't want or need to spend the $ to stay at an upscale hotel.”

  • The beds were really comfortable, and the location was great!
  • The bathroom was pretty small.

“I'd stay here again. I really enjoyed it. I don't get much quality sleep, but the beds were comfortable and clean, and I slept pretty well! Although, the menu in the restaurant was pretty limited, what I did have was high quality and tasty.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Very clean and nicely quiet at night.
  • Rooms were on the small side but very clean!

“Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is in walking distance of the museums and capital. Also close to NC State and Meredith College. The employees were very friendly. And it was so very clean. (And I am picky about that!) My children and I loved the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the 20th floor (very top) ¿ what a view!!”

  • Clean rooms and conveniently located in downtown Raleigh.
  • The set up of the parking. The garage is in a spiral and is very Narrow. Kind a scary.

  • The location was great!
  • The hotel bar service was AWFUL!! Our room had an odd odor.

“Overall, the hotel was fair. The location was great, and the room was adequate, despite an odd odor. Our stay was a little less than perfect due to a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE at the hotel bar one evening. We have never experienced such poor and incompetent service as we experienced from the bartender on duty that evening (Friday, September 29, 2006). We waited in an uncrowded bar for 15-20 minutes to be served while the bartender served several people who came in after us, and appeared to ignore us. The rest of the hotel staff (front desk and housekeeping) were very helpful and friendly. With the exception of the bar, our stay was pleasant.”
