“Although located near NC State campus, this is not a 3 Star Hotel -not even close. The neighborhood does not appear to be safe at night and I questioned if I could safely park my car outside at night. Also, we had a third floor room but the sliding glass door had an additional latch to keep it shut and also a bar in the sliding door track to keep someone from opening it from the outside - note 3rd floor. Stay safely at this hotel at night is questionable.”

“Stayed here to accompany my son for his 2-day NC State new student orientation. This hotel is extremely convenient to the campus. We paid an excellent price for a 3-star hotel and the hotel is definitely up to that rating. My youngest son traveled with us and enjoyed the pool.”

“The Holiday Inn is an older hotel with a lot of potential but is showing it's age. There is no continental breakfast and the money they charge to bring your breakfast can best be used at the local Waffle House. The hard Comfort-Pedic foam mattress in the rooms should be replaced with nice Euro top mattresses. The bathroom was good and customer service was helpful.”

“The hotel looked dated from the outside, so I didn't expect much. However, the property was clean and the staff friendly. The room was larger than most and the mattress very comfortable. I slept like a log!”

“Party people should be roomed away from business travelers. I was awakened at 3 am by kids hanging in the hall and slamming doors. Hotel was clean, and sufficient but no fridge/micro.”

“The beds were awesome and the room was clean. Not impressed to get a pounding at the door early in the morning and find it to be room service there to clean. Overall, it was a plenty good hotel.”

“I didn't notice the bathtub being filthy until the morning. It was so obviously unclean (with visible dirt and hair in it) that I couldn't use it. The staff was very apologetic and spoke immediately to housekeeping. Still, an unclean, dirty tub kind of soured my whole impression of Brownstone.”

“The "single pipe" A/C system did not cool any guest room sufficiently. Among other things, the sliding door to outside balcony was in disrepair.”

“Tempur-Pedic mattress's were the only high point of the stay. The rooms were dated and not very clean especially around the patio doors. There was graffiti on the back of the curtains, cobwebs around the door frame and major construction outside that started at 6 am.”

“After having stayed at the omni hotel in charlotte a true 3 star hotel and seeing what a dump this was I drove 45 miles out of my way to stay at a Marriott in Durham NC. Very disappointed.”
