• Cook top and refrigerator. Firm mattress.
• Motel quality was poor - thin walls and ceilings, shoddy shower curtain, cheap furniture.

“It was an adequate place to stay. I had an unpleasant experience, though. I was in smoking room. It had a very obvious stale, smoky smell. I went back up to the desk to get a different room assignment. The clerk was not going to change it as she had no more singles (though there were plenty of doubles at 10:30 pm) that were non smoking. It took me to threaten to leave for her to offer the single handicapped room that was non-smoking. Interestingly that room smelled like baby formula but at least I wasn't going to walk into an interview smelling like smoke. Also when people walked around in the room above mine, it was unusually noisy. Overall property had a cheap price but not high or moderate quality - think Motel 6. Located in a what appeared to be a safe part of town.”

• Clean room, plenty of space for 2 people.
• After hours reception was not readily available.

“The rooms and location were fine for this hotel and met our expectations. Unfortunately, the lobby hours were only until 11 p.m., which was not included anywhere in the information we received. When we arrived, the phone outside was broken and we couldn't get in touch with anyone to let us in. Eventually, we found someone staying there and asked if we could call from their room, and we finally got in touch with an operator. It then took about 20 minutes for someone to open the door, while we sat outside in the middle of the night. The night attendant reported that they knew the phone was broken, and that the delay was explained by the operator having to call his boss and his boss having to call him. Not sure how we would have gotten in without going into some stranger's room and using their phone!”

• The location was convenient.
• The tile floor was not clean.

“I was disappointed that the staff would not give me a non-smoking room. I tried the smoking room for an hour but it was terrible. I paid a fee for a larger non-smoking room, and the tile floor was not clean. I will not repeat this experience again. No more Homestead Suites.”

• No chair's) in room; Bar stools uncomfortable.

“This hotel is great for the business traveler, or anyone who needs a good night's sleep. Personally, I thought the shuttle driver was excellent. New to the job, but friendly and very nice. Great employees make for a great hotel stay.”

• I like absolutely nothing about this hotel or its service.
• Extremely unclean; poor management, you name it.

“Don't go there unless you like dirty linen and diapers on your bed. Oh, and noisy tenants.”

• Nice view.
• Uneven floors, construction noise, food poisoning from the hotel restaurant.

“Not worth I paid for this hotel. I will not stay at the Westin again.”

• Close to the place we wanted to see.
• Reeked of cigarette smoke, brown go on light switches and knobs.

“I called to ask for another room since the one we were given reeked of cigarette smoke and was not clean at all.”

• The amenities in the room were perfect.
• No additional features, like coffee bar, computer access.

“For the most part, this hotel did a great job of providing a place of comfort for me during my recent stay. It was close to a major supermarket, which made it convenient for the amenities in the room. Overall, the stay was great. The staff was helpful, even printing out directions to one of the places I had to visit.”

• It did have the amenities I needed, but I really wish it had a more comfortable bed.
• Bed.

“It is an outdated hotel, but you get what you pay for. It was clean enough, but I have got to bring up that bed thing again. It was the worst.”

• Location exceptional, convenient, and serene.
• Had to pay for wireless access.

“I mistakenly went to the wrong hotel, which was also a 2 star. The staff there was much unorganized; the manager was hiding from disgruntled visitors. So I feared when I got to the right hotel that I was in for a similar experience. Nothing could be farther from the truth! The quality was far better. The location was ideal and idyllic. Restaurants (chain and family owned), pharmacy, grocery store, shopping, and even a movie theater were in walking distance. The property was nestled among tall trees and had an almost park like setting. The room was sparkling clean. I was so very satisfied that if I ever return to Durham, the homestead suites is where I will always stay.”

• The staff is pleasant and helpful.
• Small rooms.

“Overall. This is simply a room with a bed, fridge and a TV. Clean, but no amenities at all. If you are looking for only a place to sleep, this is the place for you. They do have coffee but not until 7 AM and I'm usually out the door way before that.”

“There was no non-smoking queen-bed room available when we arrived. The hotel let me pay more to upgrade to non-smoking king-bed room. The first room was not clean, so I had to change to another room.”
