  • It provided a place to sleep.
  • Extremely overpriced. Non smoking room reeked of smoke. Staff was unfriendly.

“I am baffled as to the high cost of hotels in Fredonia, New York. Prices compare to much nicer facilities elsewhere. Rooms in this hotel are shabby and have not been cleaned since converted to non smoking. Staff-manager in particular - seem to receive regular complaints from customers and give very little satisfaction. I'd rather drive to Buffalo.”

  • Loved the lakeside location and outdoor dining area.
  • Inside bar was too expensive.

“This is a lovely hotel on the shores of Lake Erie. We enjoyed our stay, and liked the proximity to SUNY Fredonia. It was nice to be able to walk out onto the pier and watch the sunset. The room was clean, the Serta bed comfortable and the choice of pillows was a nice touch.”

  • Bed was comfortable.
  • Paid extra for Lakeview room did not get a Lakeview room.

“The location was convenient close to Fredonia College. The bed was comfortable and staff was friendly. The bathroom could have been cleaner. I was not satisfied with the room as I paid extra for a Lakeview room and the only view we had was the hotel bar's outdoor lounge area. Every time I looked out the window people were looking at us.”

  • Beds are very comfortable, was given a choice of pillows.
  • Staff messed up on the bill two different times.

“Great location - on the shores of lake Erie. Room was comfortable. Bar and restaurant moderately priced. The pool looked great. Wish I could be there when they open the outdoor bar.”

“We enjoyed our stay and next time will ask for a room overlooking Lake Erie. We plan to go again just for a fun getaway.”

  • Old, filthy, smelled bad, and needs refurbishing.

  • Location was great for the town that it is located in.
  • Rooms were dirty, towels were sparse, and they really need to update their interior of the rooms.

“I was really disappointed with the quality of the rooms for this hotel. Our room dated the hotel. The bathroom floor was disgusting, even after the maid came in twice during our stay. The room smelled like a bar room. This is not a 3 star hotel. I have stayed in Days Inn that was cleaner than this hotel. The lobby was very nice. The restaurant/bar area was great and the staff was very friendly. But, I will not be staying in this hotel when we return to that area again.”

  • Staff was friendly.
  • Overall condition of hotel.

“This hotel was a great disappointment, especially considering the price. It had the smell of disinfectant. The bed had a large dip in it, several lights didn't work, the drain in the tub was clogged, and the whole hotel was in a general state of disrepair. I couldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“It is off the beaten path, the view is great. You are in the heart of wine county and fresh fruits. The area is great for unwinding.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[8] • Location:[6]

  • It was close enough to our destination to make travel easy.
  • Room condition was not clean or fresh. Bathroom rundown and heater/blower in room very loud.

“We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and had a very good experience. This time, however, we were less than happy. The walls must be very thin as we heard conversations throughout the night. The heater/air conditioner was very loud. The bathroom was rundown and not very clean. Although we had a non-smoking room, the air was very stale. We were told at the time of check in that we could have breakfast in the dining room up until 10 am. When we went for breakfast at 8:45, we were told that they were tearing down breakfast to make way for brunch. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast. We were in town for college graduation and all other facilities were booked so we didn't complain and kept the room.”

“A beautiful water view on Lake Erie. Very relaxing and easy to get into Fredonia College where my daughter goes. Airport is about 45 min away and Rt 90 is minutes away from the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[5] • Location:[8]

  • Location was nice and on the water.
  • I had a maintenance worker walk into the room without knocking.

“I felt that this hotel was priced too high for a weekday stay considering its age, accommodations and small town location. The pricing would be fine for a weekend getaway given its location on the water. By the way "lake view" generally means that you look out on the lake, not see a tiny corner of it out your window, since my room looked out on a courtyard primarily. I was very unhappy about being surprised by the hotel's staff member who just let himself in to fix something in the bathroom.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • Nice hotel, especially for such a small town and remote spot. Staff let us check in early. Great.
  • The room I stayed in had a musty smell and the carpeting was damp near the window.

“Off the beaten path, a one or two night stay at this hotel allows visitors to see some beautiful countryside and explore the wineries off of Lake Erie in northwestern New York, while at the same time, not losing out on some of the luxuries afforded in hotels found in larger cities.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • It was a bed
  • Inadequate a.c., no soda

“Probably the best there is for Dunkirk, but poor by any standards: generally dirty; the pool water was an opaque green; non-functioning a.c. in the lobby and barely functioning a.c. in the room; old, worn out mattresses. I'll travel further to avoid this facility on future travels on I-90.”

“Hotel is dirty, Rooms are dirty and not very modern, remote controls for the TV are from the '80's and u cant read the buttons on them. Front desk staff doesnt know what there doing and the hotel is located on the lake but across the street is the ghetto, not very safe if your walking at night time. DONT STAY HERE there are better hotels by the thruway”
