  • So close to all the historic areas and in walking distance too.
  • I can't think of anything negative.

“I had already made reservations here before I read any reviews on this sight and others. After reading the bad reviews I was very nervous about staying there. But let me tell you. This place was perfect. You couldn't have asked for a better location, and the hotel was charming. What people need to know and remember is that this area was settled in 1670 and things here are old and that they have to be preserved this way. So if you think you are going to a newly built elegant hotel you are mistaken. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. I stayed in a deluxe queen room so it wasn't the most expensive room in the place and I was still satisfied.”

  • Outstanding staff.
  • Front desks attitude when we checked out at 11:00PM it was so bad.

“Tiny room. The wallpaper gave me nightmares. Was awakened at 6:30AM on my wedding day by horrible sounds of construction. Drilling, sawing, hammering. Front desk said it wasn't them, but it was on the other side of my wall. The television went out Saturday night. Said someone would be there the next day. It was so horrible, we checked out at 11:00PM. and paid for another hotel somewhere else. Front desk didn't even bother to ask why, much less try to resolve any problems.”

  • Location.
  • Rooms are worn and need remodeling. Air conditioner did not work the first night. The hotel's solution was to open the window.

“Great location. Less than clean areas throughout the hotel and rooms. Air conditioner in room did not work. When reported to the front desk, they immediately called engineering to address the issue. When we returned later that day, the air conditioner still did not work and the window was open. The air conditioner was not fixed during our stay. Breakfast is a joke. Food was out when we arrived in the dinning area. It took twenty minutes to bring out eggs and bacon. They never brought out more waffle batter (geez, just poor it in the cups and bring it out, we cook it ourselves) even when all other food, except for sausage was out. Coffee area had no sugar or cream / creamers during the entire morning. Remaining mornings we ate at High Cotton restaurant on East Bay. Really, great place. Pillows in rooms were worn and in desperate need of replacing. Only one light bulb worked in the bedroom area. In general, although the staff is pretty darn friendly the hotel is beat up and falling apart. Definitely, not worth the cost per night.”
