  • Room was small and could hear everything.

“ The room was very small. You hear every noise from room above you and outside noise. Garbage truck came by at 6:00 AM and it was like you were standing outside watch and hearing the truck. You could hear people walking and talking in the room above you. ”

  • The person that originally checked me in was friendly and helpful.
  • The person who checked me out was rude and argumentative.

“I told the manager I had 5 different complaints and instead of accommodating me and listening to my concerns, she nitpicked everything I said and embarrassed me in front of other customers.

  • Location is great.
  • Rooms are dirty and the furnishings are worn out, not a good value for the money.

“The furniture, carpet and bedding were worn and appeared dirty; lamps did not work; pictures had been torn off the walls; the patio door was broken and would not close. Management provided a second room with a queen size bed on the 4th floor of the other building at a discounted rate. At first it appeared to be in much better condition, but after closer inspection we found the shower curtain rod was broken and the shower curtain which was moldy-would not close. The ledge of the backsplash on the sink and the box containing the glasses and washcloths had a thick layer of dust. Light bulbs in the bath and in one of the lamps needed to be replaced. The hotel has the bones to be a fine establishment; however without better management this hotel is one to be avoided.”

  • Good location within downtown Charleston.
  • Lack of convenient parking.

“The hotel was structurally and aesthetically pleasing. I thought that the linens and showers could have been a bit more clean.”

  • I enjoyed the way the room was furnished and decorated.
  • The door in the lobby was too noisy which made relaxation difficult.

“Upon arrival I was very pleased with the friendly staff and the way the hotel was decorated. My first day/night took some getting used to because the door in the lobby slams every time someone comes in or out. Luckily I had ear plugs to sleep with. I would recommend bleaching or replacing the shower curtains more frequently due to black at the bottom. Other than those two things my stay was enjoyable. The location was good and we were able to park the car and walk the entire weekend. The coffee and lemonade in the lobby are a nice convenience. Unexpectedly I needed a computer with internet for work and the business office was a nice convenience. I will stay again but not sure that I'll accept room 101 due to the noisy lobby.”

  • Beautiful room, great location.
  • Ice maker was 3 floors away.

“This was a great hotel. Incredible location, beautiful room, maid staff was great. I can't believe this was only considered a 2 1/2 star hotel. Breakfast on the terrace was a perfect way to start the day, and a drink on the terrace was great way to end the evening. All in all, I was completely satisfied with this hotel.”

  • Convenience and charm.
  • Brown water dripped from the exhaust fan in the bathroom!

“My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the inn. We would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself, i.e. For a cheaper price than what they normally charge. I would not pay full price for the inn. As a matter of fact, I would be royally ticked if I had. The price we paid was less than 50% of what they normally charge and was a good price for what we received. The inn was very convenient to all the shops and important things to see in downtown Charleston. We walked everywhere and never felt overly tired.”

  • Fantastic location, lovely room.
  • Not enough space for all guests at breakfast.

“Our stay at the Andrew Pinckney inn was lovely. We were upgraded to a king suite that was spacious and beautifully decorated. The location is fantastic and parking plentiful.”

  • Beautifully restored and great location for walking in the historic district.
  • Continental breakfast was extremely disappointing.

“We chose an upgraded room and were delighted to find both the bedroom and bath very spacious, but being on the ground floor tucked in the back rather dark and dreary. It was not a problem, however, due to the extreme heat of August. In cooler weather it definitely would be a depressing room. The breakfast was one of the worst we've experienced in a long time...No fresh fruit, muffins or donuts, just mediocre bagels with no cream ch
