“We stayed at this hotel because of its location and staff helpfulness. As 5 guys doing a college reunion thing, we were less concerned about the size of the room or the amenities, which was good, because the rooms are plain. For me, personally, I am ok with a hotel as long as it is clean, safe and comfortable which this hotel definitely was. Since we had done very little planning for the trip it was really great that the staff had so much information like driving directions to the beach, restaurant menus and general knowledge of nightlife. We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel was definitely a factor in our enjoyment!”

“The friendly staff and location are the two things that the hotel has going for them. Our room was very damp and musty; the room needs to be updated and refreshed.”

“Overall, an excellent value for the room rate. Hotel was located in a good location in the Historic District. Room reminded me of a very upscale hotel, even though the room rate was reasonable for the geographic location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was that the hotel ran out of parking locations, and we had to park across the street at a church. Thankfully, the church loaned the parking lot to the hotel at no charge; therefore, no difficulty was experienced in parking.”

“Overall - we had a pleasant experience. For the price I thought it was a good value. Not the best location for exploring old Charleston - but not bad if you like to walk. The staff was excellent - including the concierge who was almost over the top with enthusiasm for his city.”

“Overall the stay was awesome. The only problem that my spouse and I encountered was a little bit of drug trafficking less than one block from the hotel. With saying that, I do have to commend the Police department for keeping a close eye on the area.”

“The room was very clean and had a microwave and small cooler. You feel welcome from the time you walk in the front door, for example they offered apples at the check in desk. They had a person on staff that could tell you about the different shops and areas to eat. Everyone was friendly. I enjoyed drinking mixed drinks while I was setting in a rocking chair outside of the front entrance. The pool area was small but that is not why you could come to Charleston.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful in deciding what to do on our trip. Very clean and pretty. I believe that more could be done with maintenance. In the room we stayed in the bathroom sink needed to be caulked inside was a big gap, and the phone next to bed would not stay plugged in. A/c unit needed to be cleaned & the windows would be better if they had screens on them.”

“We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very good and reasonable. The hotel was very attractively furnished and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. We were also front in line for a parade from the citadel and other military groups which went right past the hotel! The staff were friendly and the concierge was extremely helpful with directions and ideas for places to see etc. The restaurant serves a very nice breakfast selection and is very reasonable. We would stay there again.”

“Hotel always give you the rooms by the elevator, or ice dispensers or the ones with lousiest views. This time I even told them that I want a room that is not near a noisy area and they told me that the only one available was across the elevator. This time I do not buy this story because, the lady at the desk was going to give me another room, the manager made her change it.”
