“We arrived after 10pm coming from a wedding in NC. The parking lot was nearly full and so it to a while for us to park. We were greeted at the desk politely and were quickly checked in. We had a king room. The room itself was decorated nicely. Usually you would expect out dated material in the room not this one. They had a flat screen TV with some HD stations (I like that). The bathroom was sort of small, but it was nicely done with solid surface tops. Overall I enjoyed my stay here. This may not be a romantic getaway place, but if you are looking for someone to stay 6 minutes from the historic part of Charleston this is your place.”

“It's easy to drive to the battery and other historic sights. Also easy to hop onto the nearby bridge to get to James Island and Folly Beach. Attractive room, recently redecorated. Small bath. Our room did not have a nice view. Other side probably does have river view.”

“I was very disappointed with this hotel. It was too close to heavy traffic. The restaurant in the hotel was closed for remodeling. All tubs were removed for showers. The walls are thin and there was a 1 inch gap underneath the adjoining door. I could hear everything going on in the other room. However, the staff is friendly and helpful.”

“Good, clean rooms. Excellent for events at The Citadel. Restaurant was closed for renovations. All good. I would stay again.”

“Hotel was a pleasant surprise for a moderately priced hotel, nicely decorated and very clean rooms. It was great to have a big screen TV. I did not anticipate this. The staff was very pleasant. The Historic District is actually hotel alley, lots of them surrounding the Best Western we stayed in, no sight of old Charleston. However, all in all, a great place to stay in.”

“The hotel was nice. I was told I could get a microwave in the room but I did not. The room was very small. It was difficult with my 20 month old son. There was no room to put his crib so he had to sleep halfway in the closet. And there was only a stand up shower with no tub to bath my son. The hotel pool had unattended rowdy children in it a lot of the time. But a security guard eventually took care of the problem. It would have been a great hotel if it was just my husband and I.”

“They need to fix the entrance and make it easier to get luggage into the hotel. You have to push the luggage cart up a tight winding ramp. My belongings fell off on the first turn and bloodied one of my toes! The lobby entrance is small, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the first floor and was a handicapped room (no view). It was comfortable and roomy. Laundry facilities on the floor, too. You'll have to drive Downtown too far to walk through questionable neighborhood.”

“The location didn't seem all that safe and certainly afforded no views to anything you would want to see. Perhaps it was the easy access that makes it more expensive, but that easy access is literally right next to the highway!”

“Beds were comfortable and clean. Location was great. The only complaint was the pool. A staff person told us there was "an unusual algae in Charleston, that it had been checked by the health department and deemed safe to swim in. Being the owner of a swimming pool I know better.”

“It was okay, but not where we were led to believe it was. We check out after the first night and went to a hotel in the historic district.”

“Great hotel for price and location. Rooms are nice, beds comfy, staff and concierge very helpful. One caution, while it is walking distance to trolley stops serving the historic district, the area is not good for walking. Be prepared to drive your car to tourist sights and restaurants.”

“The hotel is not located in an area where it is safe to walk to the main downtown Charleston attractions. As gas prices and the parking situation continues to worsen, this is not so good for the price. In addition, the rooms are small and the view overlooks the Arby's drive-through window!”

“The location was convenient to downtown and there was a lot of fast food around (it is mostly what we had a view of from our room). We were disappointed that for such a high price it did not include breakfast. From an environmental point of view, I think they do to much laundry. I was perfectly happy to reuse my towels and made sure to hang them up, but we received fresh ones everyday. The room itself was very nice and well furnished, they did a nice job updating it.”
