“When we arrived the entire hall stank and the room smelled worse and the bathroom ventilation didn't work at all. We were exhausted.”

“Nice hotel - was completely sold out for July 4th weekend. Given that, our experience at the hotel was very good!”

“Great location, maybe a little hard to find for the average traveler, easy with GPS, quiet, comfortable rooms that are nicely furnished. Breakfast bar was above average, easy to access. Lobby is on second floor of this hotel.”

“The hotel is clean the room was nice with a great view of the marina. The continental breakfast was great more than the usual sweet roll and juice.”

“Very attractive Hotel with secluded, scenic location on waterfront, yet easy access to Downtown Charleston. Felt very safe and was very quiet. No internal restaurant but one just across bay (short drive). Decent breakfast bar, well attended to by staff. Definitely will stay here again on next trip!”

“Nice hotel, good bang for the buck. Very close to both Folly Beach, MUSC, and downtown Charleston. Hotel also provides shuttle service to downtown. Very large suites with many ammenities. Housekeeping did a good job and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Only complaint was a slight mildew/mold odor from the air conditioner that might bother people with allergies.”

“The lobby was on the 2nd floor, I didnt think this was easily accessible. Although the lobby was clean and the desk staff was friendly, the room smelt horrible. I called the front desk to change rooms; however, the 2nd one was actually worse. There were 6 of us so it was a lot of trouble to move, so we didnt keep trying. However I ask the cleaning lady for some air freshener and she said she had some, but we never did get any! I thought the bed I slept in was the most uncomfortable bed I had ever laid on, so did my bed partner. It was lumpy or something. This was a trip for my daughters 18th birthday and was supposed to be special. The only thing I can say is at least we were busy and didnt have to spend too much time in the room. But for a Marriott Hotel-I was very disappointed.”

“Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend! Only drawback is that it is not close to restaurants or shopping, but there are a variety of eating establishments who deliver to the hotel. Bring your own bottled drinks and snacks because the ones in the vending machine are outrageously expensive.”

“Great! You will love their outstanding continental breakfast as well as their evening appetizers. Excellent location if you didn't want to stay right downtown Charleston. Just a quick hop over the bridge and you're there. We'd consider staying here again.”

“The manager covered well for the desk staff being trained w/out making them feel inferior & awkward. I'd promote him. The facilities were quiet, had nice decor and had adequately lit parking areas arranged so no one had to walk far. The suite arrangement was best I've been in. The decor was attractive and the room was clean and well-stocked.”

“Springhill Suites was a very comfortable place to stay with 2 children. We had enough room, it was very clean, and my children loved the pool. The kitchenette made it easy to keep my children fed, and two TVs meant they could both watch what they wanted. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was very good.”

“Springhill Suites is a perfect option for any traveler to Charleston. It's right across a bridge over the Ashley River, and you can be in downtown Charleston by following Calhoun Street in about 5-7 minutes. The building is brand new, and the suites are large and comfortable. All guests are treated with southern hospitality.”

“Over all very nice. Breakfast was awesome (for a hotel). The hairs in the bathroom grossed me out, but everything else was very clean. Linens were clean, as far as I could see without a black light. I would recommend it, but it is not within walking distance from Downtown Charleston. You will need to drive or take a cab. Pretty nice, but 210 a night seemed a bit steep to me. Especially with the hairs in the bathroom.”

“We got a great deal on this room and found a spot during the opening Spoleto weekend which was exciting enough. However, we got a room on the top floor (the 4th) with a King and a tiny balcony facing the marina. The room clean, huge, and the bed was heavenly. After a restful and very quiet night's sleep, we had a continental breakfast offering a fabulous selection. We highly recommend this hotel.”

“The hotel is obviously very new. It was clean and very pleasant all around. The breakfast was excellent. The problem was location - it is very difficult to find (the receptionist confirmed we weren't alone) But once we checked in, the clerk gave us directions to downtown Charleston and it was incredibly easy. Parking in Charleston is the real problem but what a great city!”
