  • Cleanliness of the hotel; safety concerns due to outside entrance.

“I am very disappointed in the stay at this facility. Our keys wouldn't work each night when we got back from our day so we had to walk to the lobby each night.”

  • Staff very friendly and willing to serve you will your needs.
  • Outlets at sink did not work properly.

“Friendly staff, yard very neat and clean. Rooms need to be updated, outlets at sink would not hold any thing that was plugged into them in shower over head was leaking and you could hear water dripping.”

“Overall my stay was great. I was given a smoking room at first. I waited to late in the evening to ask for a change but they called first thing in th am and gave me a new room that was much better.”

“The front desk at our check-in was very professional and friendly. Apparent recent remodeling, buildings and grounds in very good condition, good value for the money. Nice room, well furnished in good condition.”

  • Very nice atmosphere, lobby and staff was great. The pool was nice.
  • I had the hardest time opening the gate to the pool. I get childproof.

  • They are conveniently located near downtown Charleston, and the price is much better than staying downtown.
  • I wasn't keen on the wall-length mirror extending over the toilet.

  • The cleaning lady was the sweetest!
  • Balconies had been removed and there was not easy access to pool.

“I was a little disappointed that we were not closer to downtown Charleston. It was about a 10 minute drive and over a bridge. We were right in the middle of businesses (car dealerships, insurance agents etc) so we could not just get out and walk around. The accommodations were pretty descent and clean. It appeared they had recently updated the decor. Staff was very friendly and helpful.”

  • Remodeled since my last visit. Great beds. Very nice.
  • Some of the ice machines down.

“Very nice remodel. Very comfortable beds and plenty of pillows. Was very nice when I stayed the first time, and was better than expected this trip.”

  • All rooms are away from the street. Really quiet.
  • Too far away from Downtown.

“Nice motel. Great breakfast. Big pool. Quiet rooms. But too far away from Downtown Charleston. And for that a little bit too expensive. I thought it would be closer.”

  • The location was very convenient.

“I booked a non-smoking room. When I opened the door to my room the smell of smoke almost knocked me back. I immediately called the front desk, and asked to switch rooms. They told me all they could do is send a maintenance person to the room with a bottle of freebees. I was shocked by the snaky solution given for the problem by customer service representative. I had a very important meeting and couldn't get to sleep because the smell was so bad. The next morning I talked to the A.M. guest services representative, who told me he could switch the rooms, but I would have to wait until after 1 P.M. Then to top it all off he lied in saying the original room was a "No smoking" room. The 2nd room was actually pretty close to what I expected.”

  • Too few parking spaces.

“Don't drink the orange juice! I got sick from it. Tons of traffic at rush hour made ingress/egress testy at times. Heard every siren go by at all hours of the night, and we were off the road. Poorly insulated rooms; heard the neighbors in the bathroom all the time and it was hard to regulate heat/air conditioning. Oh, did I mention that the phone just went "crazy" one day and we had to unplug it? Stay somewhere else.”

  • It's in Charleston.
  • It's a dump. The beds were unmade when I checked in, the room had a fetid odor. The towels were dirty on check-in. The TV remote was broken.

  • The staff was very helpful and friendly.
  • The general appearance was a bit lacking.

“There are very few things I would say was positive about the hotel itself. The building itself is a bit on the old side and I really did not like the design. Unfortunately I did not notice that the rooms were of the type that was entered from an outdoor balcony. There was a stain on one of the pillow cases that appeared to be blood and the keycards demagnetized in less than a six hours causing repeat returns to the front desk just to get into the room. If you are on a very tight budget, but must see Charleston, this might be an ok place”
